    1) UCLA – 97 (2)

The Bruins are back on top after deferring to the Badgers for a few weeks. A big win over Pac 10 rival Oregon showed that UCLA is getting ready for another run deep into March. PG Darren Collison has improved his assist to turnover ratio from 1.42 to 1.98 in his last five games.

    2) Florida – 95 (1)

The Gators have stomped through the first half of confrence play unblemished, but the tough stretch of their schedule is coming up. Bigs Al Horford and Joakim Noah are starting to click like they did late last year.

    3) Wisconsin – 93 (1)

The Badgers fell from the top spot following a loss at Indiana, and the schedule doesn't get much easier. It's up to improving guards Kam Taylor and Michael Flowers to keep Wisconsin on the track to a Big 10 title.

    4) North Carolina – 86

A team that knows all about tough rivalry games, UNC was still surprised by NC State. A typically huge matchup with Duke looms on Thursday night, and the 'Heels will look to get back on championship track.

    5) Ohio State – 84

The national polls may have Brutus ahead of Bucky, but not here at JBB. The Buckeyes completed a season sweep of Michigan State this week, always a feater in the hat of any coach.

    6) Texas A&M – 83

Can a team do more to improve its buzz factor in one week than the Aggies? In two nationally televised games on ESPN, Texas A&M not only pulled off an impressive comeback at Phog Allen Fieldhouse, but ran away from freshman sensation Kevin Durant and Texas.

    7) Butler – 72

Butler sure has it figured out - win a bunch of tough games during the non-conference schedule, then just cruise into March at the top of the polls. The Bulldogs have continued to play stifling defense, and the guard duo of AJ Graves and Mike Green is improving every game.

    8) Pittsburgh – 71

Pitt continues to chug through the Big East schedule, and got a good win at Villanova this week. Senior guard Antonio Graves is giving the Panthers leadership and steady play, but sophomore forward Sam Young needs to break out of a funk.

    9) Oregon – 69

The Ducks had a rough week, but stay in JBB's top 10 because of their impressive early run. Losses at UCLA and USC are nothing to feel shame about, either. PG Aaron Brooks continues to show why he's an All-American candidate.

    10) Kansas – 58

Sooner or later, the Jayhawks are going to win a tough game...right? This Kansas team appears to have the same Achilles heel as past years; when the chips are down, all that talent isn't enough to get the close wins. KU needs to get some more toughness before Tournament time.

    11) Nevada - 57
    12) Marquette – 56
    13) Washington State – 55
    14) Duke – 38
    15) Southern Cal – 37
    16) Oklahoma State – 34
    17) Air Force – 33
    18) Florida State – 31
    19) Stanford – 22
    20) Memphis – 21
    21) Southern Illinois – 20
    22) Indiana – 18
    23) Notre Dame – 16
    24) Georgetown – 15
    25) Arizona - 9

Sorry I couldn't get mine in this weekend. I've had a ton of stuff to do for school and Super Bowl Sunday. I'll have mine in next week though, guaranteed [IMG]

WTF is with the national polls? OSU (20-3) loses to Wisconsin (22-2) and UNC (20-3), yet they get ranked over both? Bullshit.

Memphis just has such a great name cache because of Calipari, but the truth is that they're no better than VCU, Winthrop, or any of those other mid-majors. I thought about ranking them this week, but top 10? Wtf's that about? Maybe MSU should drop into a mid-major conference and pad their record. It looks like that's the way to go. Oh well, it'll only hurt them come March. That's why they never go anywhere in the tourny.

And Bama's actually looking better... er, at least Davidson is. I ranked them based more on the fact that no other teams out there deserved that spot than anything, but aside from their resume, this team has the talent to go toe-to-toe with anyone in America, at least when Steele's on-point... that's a big if though... what a disappointment he's been. How about Davidson's dominating performance vs. Big Baby though? I really love the way that guy plays. It's hard not to root for him with the adversity he's gone through in these past few months too. I really respect that he's able to go on the court and put all of his personal problems behind him and still be as dominant as he is.

Good call on Davidson, he's the one Tide player I really enjoy watching. How much strength/bulk do you think he'll need to add in order to be a big NBA player? And where would you project him in the upcoming draft?

I gotta take advantage of all your skills here LOL

Yeah, Davidson has been to hell and back this year, but it has not showed on the basketball court. The kid has played his ass off this year and I respect him dearly for that!

How is Ohio State ahead of Wisconsin in the National Polls? No respect for UCLA either, no way is Florida the unanimous #1. LMAO at Nevada over Oregon.

I watched Nevada this weekend and came away very unimpressed. Nevada beat bottom dweller Hawaii by one, but I think Hawaii got screwed at the end. With about 8 seconds left, Hawaii got the ball inside to Gueye. Fazekas was fouling him for about 3 seconds, the refs called it...then Gueye gathered himself for a shot and it went in. The refs originally called the basket good--and Mark Fox went absolutely nuts. They huddled for a couple of minutes to finally decide the basket counted. Then Mark Fox goes crazy, he talks to the ref. Another few minutes pass while the refs huddle, and they reverse the call. It was BS and if I was Hawaii, I would have the WCC investigate the incident.

Nevada simply does not play defense. They're the type of team that has experienced guards who will get a big bucket at one end of the floor, and then they'll slap the floor to get the team riled up on their way back to the defensive end, then give up an uncontested jumper from 15 feet out just 10 secs into the shot clock. Fazekas is a trainwreck defensively. He doesn't have any toughness or strength - he'll get exposed in the tourney. He's got extremely long arms and outstanding footwork on offense, but all his blocks have come against teams like St Mary's and UC Santa Barbara. It all adds up to me thinking that Fox doesn't make him play defense because he's the two time defending conference player of the year. He's perfect for the NBA [IMG] [IMG]

Now that I've gotten rid of the venom I have for Nevada, I've been pleasently surprised by Marcellus Kemp this year. He still turns it over when he makes a bad move on the baseline and gets trapped because of his tendancy to overpenetrate, but he's a dangerous player. If he'd become more content to shoot some jumpers and keep the defense unsure of what he's going to do, he could become an elite player. As it is now, he attracts too much defensive attention to the paint - when he and Fazekas are both in there, the only guy that a defense has to account for is making sure Shiloh doesn't have an open look on the wing. Sessions is pretty good, and when I've seen him, I've been impressed with Lavale McGee (sp?)

Hawaii forward Ahmet Gueye ate Fazekas alive in the paint. Hawaii just kept pounding the ball inside to him in the second half and Gueye was doing whatever he wanted. Fazekas would turn around and do the same thing back to him on offense, but there's no doubt that he's a liability on the defensive end and I think that will ultimately come back to hurt his draft status when the time comes.

Yo Schaddy, I'll answer that question later, but I'm in a bit of a hurry and just wanted to get online to post the poll. [IMG]

EDIT: Can someone else post these? My password's not working for some bizarre reason. [IMG]

It's doing the same thing to me - I re-register, and it sends me another password...which I then enter...and it still doesn't let me in [IMG]
