A buddy of mine from London has it. He's good with computers too so I put confidence in his opinion. He said that it can be great for games because of DirectX 10 supposedly only going to being available for Vista. Also new screen graphics, etc are nice. Otherwise it isn't worth the price and it isn't worth pirating it either if you plan to. Something like 2,000 to 3,000 people in North America have already been caught pirating it. Microsoft is going rambo on people right now. I will be staying high and away from Vista until I have more information about it, but from what I do know of it definitely isn't something I'll be putting my money into.
i heard the templates were decent, but like M21 said, it's really not worth pirating. It's a waste of rapidshare/megaupload/etc. time.
Yea, I heard the main upgrades dealt with media (music, video, graphics), which seems to suggest that they're mainly trying to get a step up on Apple.

He's already considering going back to XP, so that gives me enough detail about the value. <div class="quote_poster">Mamba Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Got damn that's a lot of people getting caught, there goes that idea.</div> Yeah man and the numbers keep rising too. I would definitely stay clear. We don't want to see anyone here getting busted for pirating something that isn't even worth purchasing to begin with.
^^ lmao. My computer is pretty new, it says Vista capable on it too Although the morons didnt even install the disc drive properly, so I'd be surprised if I could actually run it
Your better off buying a new comp with it in it. Thats what im doing 549 bucks for a nice comp with 2 gigs of ram 2.8ghz intel with dual core technology and vista preinstalled.
I would not buy Vista right now. Maybe in 1+ year. Right now, it's in dire need of a service pack, and the things you get with vista is not that much improved from Win XP. Most people seem to be impressed with the nice looks, but you can actually download those for windows XP. Furthermore, several programs and games don't work on Vista, so right now, XP works much better.
Why does everyone think that Microsoft is trying to catch up to Apple? The Mac was never better you know. Windows has long been the most popular system, don't believe everything that those Mac commercials say.
if anything they are trying to make there stock holders happy and thats why they are pushing product sooo much
