<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The NBA is looking to remove Chicago Bulls rookie Tyrus Thomas from the all-star slam-dunk competition and replace him, a prominent agent has told us. Thomas was fined $10,000 by the league after telling reporters he didn't really care about going for anything but the money. Thomas said he was "going out there, get my check and call it a day." "The league is looking to replace him," the agent said.</div> Full Story God I hope so. Not only did he seem out of place in a dunk contest to me...but his comments were moronic. If there is a god, Iggy will agree to come back and add some credibility to what in my opinion is looking like a poor excuse of a dunk contest. If not Iggy, I'd like to see Rudy Gay in there.
James White should absolutely be in this dunk contest. Winning the competition could help jump start his NBA career by giving him a huge confidence boost.
<div class="quote_poster">rafy Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I was astonished when Flight White was left out...just youtube him, he's amazing.</div> The NBA is really out of touch with their fans and their players. This is just another example of it.
I want James White in there too..but he hasn't gotten playing time. CARNEY! I remember watching him and White in the college DC.

The dunk contest is for the fans...to know that someone is going out there, not interested in putting a show on for the fans, no desire to compete and win, or entertain, kind of makes it pointless. I know that I don't want to watch someone take up a spot in the dunk contest if they pretty much aren't even going to try out there. Furthermore, this guys is making what? $3.2 million dollars, and he's willing to participate in a dunk contest that he's not even interested in for a measly $16K?
Dre already declined an invitation so we can forget about any hope of that happening... James White lost the college DC last year btw, you guys act like he is the next VC. But he is still a good dunker. I want to see Carney in this.

Similar to Iggy last year. He had the best dunk all night, but lost because Nate is shorter. After Iggy threw down that behind the backboard dunk, they should have ended the contest. Flight White in between the legs from the free throw line, no one's beating that if he pulls it off.

I like Ty Thomas, but this bonehead statement is just plain stupid. For the simple reason, why would you say such a thing to the public?

It's even worse when someone who averages 3.5 points and 2.7 rebounds has the audacity to say something like that. I hope they take him out.
It would be ridiculous to have a guy who hasn't played any games in the NBA to be in the dunk contest. At least have role players or "rising stars" in there. Maybe Iguodala if he wants to come back or Rudy Gay.
