New York State Sen. Carl Kruger says three pedestrians in his Brooklyn district have been killed since September upon stepping into traffic while distracted by an electronic device. In one case bystanders screamed "watch out" to no avail.</div> Source LMFAO this is pathetic.
Stupid. Let them get hit, don't care. If they're stupid enough to wear an iPod and not be aware of their surroundings, I really don't think they're longed for this Earth.
I think its a fair call, maybe people will think twice now before crossing the street while listening to an MP3 player or somthing, they can pretty dangerous in such situations. I see alot of close calls with people doing this type of thing.

People are not that stupid that the only way they will learn is if it will become a law.
isnt it funny how they want to ban ipods in the street or whatever, because three people have been killed in new york, but they dont ban guns. America, you need to get your priorities straightened out, quick.
No offense to anyone, and I love my music too, but you shouldn't be walking around on a sidewalk or street anywhere in general. Last year I heard that more people were killed or robbed on accounts of that they were listening to their MP3 players or other devices and their attackers were able to gain an easy advantage. Attackers easily target people listening to music. That's why I never walked around with music playing unless I was sitting on a bus or train, etc.

It's like trying to stop a school bully from picking on you via talking, it isnt going to stop anything, people need a reason to stop doing things, $100 fine would be good enough reason for me to not have my ear phones in while crossing a street. Wether you like it or not, its infact a very dangerous distraction.

That would be something.

Have you ever spilled a cup of coffee? Left the house without something important? If you had, does that make you an idiot? A lot of people can get caught up in what they're listening to, especially younger people, and not hear a car coming when they are jaywalking. That doesn't make them idiots that don't deserve to live, that makes them human...
Speaking of spilling coffee, I spilled a Venti brewed on my today at work, lid cracked. If you're idiotic enough to not pay attention to traffic in NY, then you have no right on this earth.

We have a lot of models here so that is a real problem.
