In comes KoMe and the Lakers on Friday night to the ACC. This will be a great test for our young squad to see how we can compete against one of the stronger teams in the association. Should be a thriller, but we're gonna carry this current momentum and upset the Lakers tomorrow night. [IMG]

I think Naismith should be made official game-thread maker for this forum! Big up as usual J.

I like your prediction as well. We've been pretty tough on our home court lately, and the Lakers have shown signs of weakness, with losses against teams like the Bobcats, and the Knicks. If we can keep KB24 to around 30pts and make people like Smush and Vlad Rad beat us, we'll have a good chance at pulling off a W.

I think Rasho's savvy veteran play can D up Bynum, and keep him off the glass. Our bench is far superior to theirs, and TJose Fordlerone has been unstoppable!

This to me is a MUST win situation, because even if we lost our next 3, we go into the ASG break with a winning record.

    Outstanding preview Dr J. Naismith!

Prior to the start of this season, I would have expected this to be a gimme win for the Lakers. However, the Raptors are one of the hottest teams in 2007 and they get it done with efficient basketball. Their depth has improved, every player seems to know their role on the squad, and the Barney's are playing with a lot of confidence. Not to mention, the Raptors are tough to beat in TDot.

What remains to be seeing is whether or not the Raptors are ready to play with a target on their back. Most of the league hasn't caught on to the Raptors being a legit team, which has allowed this team to sneak up on opponents and walk away with a win.

The Lakers have played to their level of competition all season long. They beat the elite teams and lose to the bottom feeders. It's hard to say which Laker team shows up for this game. I'm sure the expectations for Kobe to have another historic night against the Raptors will be on everyone's minds, but the Lakers have learned to beat teams with various players scoring on any given night.

The Lakers are at a disadvantage coming into this game near the back end of their longest road trip in Laker history, and with some key players injured, they have tired legs. Depending on how the Piston game turns out, the Lakers will probably have to rely on their bench to match Toronto's energy. Players like Mo Evans, Ronny Turiaf and Jordan Farmar will have to play big roles in this game for the Lakers to win.

This has to be the most good looking preview I've ever seen mad props!

I am really looking forward to this game, one of IMO the two most interesting teams in the league, lakers being the most interesting ofc.

Much appreciated fellas! I honestly enjoy doing these game threads, so as long as your receptive of them I have no problems doing them. I might not be able to do them all the time, but willl try my best to continue them here at justbball.

Outside of playing extremely well as of late, another big advantage for us is that we're the second game of a back to back for Lakers. They face-off against a tough Pistons squad this evening, so hopefully they'll wear them out making them a little tired for tomorrow night.

We're still the underdog in my opinion, so if we do lose I won't be too distraught just as long as we're not blow out of the water ala KoMe's 81 point performance from last season. [IMG]

Well hopefully the Lakers and Pistons go into a triple-overtime game, and beat each other up LOL!

The Lakers seem to come through against the Raptors in the fourth, if the Lakers are tired maybe the Raps can get a comfortable lead before the 4th.

I actually had a slight orgasm going through that preview (and then it went to another level when I saw Sofia's pic!)

    Again, great job Doc.

As for the game itself, I'm a HUGE Phil Jackson fan, and he's one of the main reasons I kept my tickets for this game. Hopefully it's a good one. It always is when the Lakers come to town.

P.S. Doc, would you like to be the perminent GameThread maker in the forum?

Excellent point Shape. I remember Last year NO/OK going 19-8 over the months of January and February only to go 7-18 over March and April and fall out of playoff contention.

I think the Lakers are a better overall team but I will predict a Raptors win since they're rested and have been playing so well at home. Conversely the Lakers will be tired after the slugfest in Detroit. I am hoping for a lakers win tonight in Detroit so they will come into relatively satisfied with themselves.

    Sure, why not!

I won't be around this weekend so someone might have to jump in for me tomorrow against the Pistons. If I can't do one for some reason I'll PM yourself, Premium and Chut.

Did anyone see the TSN Top10 prior to the game? Number 6 was Crosby getting sticked in the face .. what kind of a highlight is that? 8 out of the 10 highlights were hockey. We should write into TSN and tell them to forefit their basketball rights for the rest of the season. I'd rather watch the raptors on WTN when put up with this absolute crap.

    Very nice preview.

The PBP seems to be screwed, its reading the score as 17-16 with 6 minutes left in the second quater.

Use ESPN or Sportingnews, those are more accurate. Lakers are getting their butts kicked again 72-65.

Raptors missing free throws is giving me post traumatic stress disorder.
