I've been trying to break my habit of over-using smiley icons, but these responses are overwhelming proof that I'm failing in that endeavor.

    1) F/Marry/Kill - Mike Wilkinson, Alando Tucker, and Bo Ryan

    2) Top 10 songs atm?

    3) Who sucks more, Joakim Noah or Joakim Noah, and why?

    1) Fawk - Alando Tucker (He's hotter than Hansel right now [/mauryballstein]), Marry - Mr. Wilkinson (that's my guy), Kill Bo Ryan...but only because that would open up his job to me [IMG]

    2) 1. Proud Mary (CCR) 2. Tangerine (Zeppelin) 3. All Along the Watchtower (Jimi) 3. Tell Me Baby (RHCP) 4. Snow (RHCP) 5. Us and Them (Floyd) 6. Smack that (whatever that rap song is now, I'm totally out of the loop [IMG] It's an inside-joke thing) 7. Learning to Fly (Tom Petty) 8. Small Time Blues (Pete Droge) 9. In a Gadda va Vida - props to VC here (Iron Butterfly) 10. The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald (Gordon Lightfoot)

    3. I like that African Viking [IMG] Hustle guy, good passing ability, he's an energetic playmaker. I'd want him on my team any day

How do you think Wisconsin will perform down the stretch?

Do you eat fast food? Explain why, yes or no.

    Cats or dogs, maybe rodents?

    1) It depends on two things: guard play and health. This is the point when we tanked last year due to the absence of Landry and Steimsma. And if Kam doesn't stop turning the ball over in key spots, we aren't going to take out the big boys. If things break right, we can be a Final Four team. I said at the start of the year that I want to see us in the Elite 8 at worst, so I'll stick to it.

    2) I try to avoid it LOL. I work at a sub shop, so I guess that counts. But as for McDonalds or Burger King...[IMG] I figure I'm a big enough dude without all that [IMG]

    3) I'm a cat person. I like their independance, and the only baby animal that's...well...cuter than a kitten is a bear cub [IMG] I had a gerbil when I was young, so they're always cool in my book, too.

Who do you think is the hottest woman alive?

What are your views on the War In Iraq?

Where do you see the world in 50 years time?

    1) Hmmmmmm - for now I'll say Scarlett Johanson. But here's my criteria for a '10' - blonde, cute face, nice butt, and freckles [IMG]

    2) I'll keep a complex answer simple: nothing we've done so far has made things appreciably better, but the U.S's actions have cost thousands of lives. I have a hard time seeing any upside to our involvement. I was against it to start, and I'm sickened by what it's become.

    3) Great question, but I'm not sure I'm the guy to answer it LOL. Hopefully, as a global society, we will learn to be more tolerant of many things, continue to educate ourselves, and build a future where issues concerning race, gender, class, etc, are no longer prevelant. [/missamerica]

Favorite fast food, if you do eat it?

    top 10 guitarists?

    what's life like in madison?

    1) I must admit that Taco Bell is pretty good sometimes...when the...uh...munchies strike.

    2) 1a, 1b, 1c - Jimi, Page and Frushiante

    4. Eric Clapton 5. Flea (I know he's not a guitarist, but if I'm doing a top 10 I can't leave him out) 6. David Gilmour (Pink Floyd)7) Duane Allman 8) Stevie Ray Vaughn 9) Keith Richards 10) Brian May (Queen)

    3) I know I'm biased as hell, but I love everything about it. UW is a diverse and interesting school, and there's never a shortage of stuff to do, from sporting events to concerts, speakers, etc. The people around here are a good mix of blue-collar and progressive, informed individuals. I could go on and on, but it feels like we've got a true cross-section of the entire world tucked into a relatively quiet city in Wisconsin. And the parties are [IMG]

    1) How much better is Noah than Varajeo (sp)?

    2) Who would you pick as a coach replacement for Stotts in Milwaukee

    3) If you could build your team around Redd, Bogut or CV, factoring age, talent and everything, who would you pick and why?

    1) I think that's a pretty good comparison - Varaejo is a poor man's Noah. I think Noah has better passing/playmaking skills, and also has a more developed offensive game. They both seem to have the same limitations, however on offense. I want to see Noah develop a go-to move and add bulk. But I really enjoy watching both guys.

    2) Of available coaches, I'd like to see Mike Fratello or Rick Adelman (props to Durvasa for suggesting him). Ideally, I would love to see what Gregg Poppovich could do with an inside/out combo like Redd and Bogut.

    3) Interesting question...I think I'd still take Bogut. Redd has exceeded every expectation I've ever had for him, and I really like him a lot. However, if I'm starting a team, give me a skilled big like Bogut to build on. I'd make sure that he maximized his defensive capabilities and got a lot more touches than he does now. But I'd need Deron Williams on my team, too [IMG]

Do you miss TJ Ford being in a Bucks uni, or do you prefer Mo Williams over him?

Why did Wisconsin have to take Jason Bohannon out his home state and how good of a player do you think he'll turn out to be?

How has Terry Stotts lasted so long?

    1) Honestly, neither guy is my type of point guard, and I see a lot of similarities between them. I don't miss TJ's penchant to look for his own shot, both because he can't shoot and because he didn't feed the post well in Milwaukee - I see that he's gotten better in that regard playing with Bosh, though. I guess I'd probably take TJ if I had to pick between them. Either guy would probably go Spreewell on me after awhile though, because their turnovers drive me nuts [IMG]

    2) Because Bo knows recruiting [IMG] I really like Jason's long-term potential. He's dangerous behind the arc, but has shown more rebounding skills than I thought he had. He takes care of the ball, which I like, and that means he'll probably take over as a stater right away next year. I think he has to diversify his game, because opponents really don't respect his ability to get to the rim at this point. I guess he hasn't played enough yet to truly project what type of player he'll be, but I think by his senior year he'll have a stat line like this: 13-15 ppg, 4 rpg, 4 apg, and better than 40% 3FG

    3) That's a good friggin question. My only answer is that he's Larry Harris's boy, and he probably gets too much cushion because of all the injuries. Stotts is a loser. There's at least 10 assistant coaches right now who would be doing a better job than he is.

    1. What's your favorite Rivalry to watch that's not in Wisconsin? (Any sport)

    2. Do you have any funny child hood stories? If so, what is one?

    3. Who did you idolize growing up? Why?

    1) Great question. I love rivalry games, no matter the sport. I always try to watch Michigan/Ohio State in football, and any college basketball game between teams from Philly is interesting. This season I've been watching a lot of Pac 10 games on FSN - I know that Zona/UCLA is about the only big-time 'rivalry' there, but the level of competition and intensity has been excellent [IMG] If there's a rivalry game on tv, I'll probably watch it. The only such rivalry I just can't stand is Dook/UNC. I'd just as soon skip that one from now on [IMG]

    2) Yeah, many of them are a bit too personal for JBB, but it's safe to say I was an entertaining child. Actually, just a few years ago I got chased up a tree by a pissed off female moose. I was up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula photographing moose and black bears, and I got too close trying to get a pic of the moose's calf. She saw/smelled me, charged, and left my big ass stuck 20 feet up a maple tree for about a half hour [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    3) Reggie White was my boy [IMG] and up until his little hot tub incident, I was a Mark Chmura fan. In my personal life, I've always tried to take advice from my grandma, who helped raise me while my parents were finishing college. Not your typical 'idol' figure, but I like to think I got most of my few positive traits from her [IMG]

    1. Have you expanded your courage in regards to trying new types of sushi?

    2. Brett Favre announced he's going to play next season, good idea or should he just retire?

    3. What does Wisconsin need to improve on to win the entire Tourney?

    1) Not much [IMG] I like shrimp sushi, but I still am not a tuna fan. I've had it 4 times now, but I think I'll stick to cooked fish most of the time. It's really good when I'm in the mood, though.

    2) I've always been a bit overly critical of Favre, but deep down, I love the guy. From a business standpoint, he's the best option we've got, because Rodgers hasn't done squat yet. From my fan perspective, Brett can play until they put him in a wheel chair. He's always going to do unbelieveably stupid things now and then, but he's just a guy you can't help but like. He's always going to be a rebel and a gunslinger, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Brett, we love you, man [IMG]

    3) Well, that's an answer I could write an essay about, but hey, I'll keep it halfway reasonable. We must get more consistent outside shooting. Kam and Butch are both capable of hitting 3 or more triples in a game, but they both run hot and cold. Flowers is a bit reluctant to shoot it deep, and he needs to overcome that. Bohannon needs to play more, because opponents have to start respecting our deep shooters . Too often we've had Tucker triple-teamed in the paint, and we need to make people pay for doing that. Up front, I'd like to see us get Butch more involved in the offense. If he's on, we can beat anyone. If he disappears, we won't make the Sweet 16. Defensively, we're solid, but we've had bouts of inconsistency defending the 3. Flowers can only take one player out of the game defensively; our other guards need to step up in that respect. Even though we can play multiple styles now, I still want to see a slower, grinding pace. When we start running is when Kam starts turning the ball over, and that when we get into trouble. I also want to see Steimsma get a chance to shoot it more. He's got a nice 15 foot jumper, but is always in foul trouble and has really been tentative. He's 7'1" and 260+ - he shouldn't be deferring to Kam or Tuck when he's got the ball anywhere near the paint. Send it in, big man!

    1. After seeing TJ and CV play this season, if you could turn back time as the Bucks GM, would you accept that trade?

    2. Who would you like to see in this year's dunk competition?

    3. Who will be in the NBA Finals this season and who will end up champions?

    1) Another intriguing question. I think I'd rather have CV than TJ now, seeing how Mo Williams has developed. It helps to have a secondary scoring option like Villanueva in the post, and when he's healthy he gives us a guy who can really open the paint with his shooting ability. He needs to get much tougher, though. I guess neither guy is really one of my favorites, but we need CV right now more than we need TJ. I'd still have traded TJ for Dez Mason and the 1st round pick that became Cedric Simmons, though [IMG]

    2) If I could pick any 5 guys, I'd want to see Andre Iguodala, Dez Mason, LeBron, Josh Smith and Nate Robinson. But I'd also make a rule that says you only get 3 tries to nail your dunk.

    3) Hmmm...I'll go with the Spurs and Pistons. Not the conventional picks, but allow me to explain. I think that Phoenix and Dallas are both just awesome teams. I really like the Mavs, so it was hard to pick over them. But I think Duncan will be 100% for the postseason for the first time in awhile, and Tony Parker seems to really elevate his game in the playoffs. The Spurs lack a second athletic scorer to go with Manu, and that could hurt against more athletic teams like Dallas and Phoenix. I'll probably regret that pick, but hey, I really like the Spurs. I'm taking Detroit out of the East right now for no reason other than this: Washington doesn't defend at all, and the Cavs are wildly inconsistent. Detroit needs an enforcer in the paint, but they have the best starting five in the East, and they've been there before. That's good enough for me in a terrible conference.

    Can you dunk?

    1) [IMG] Nope. I'm 6'0", 240 and white as it gets [IMG] But I'm a good passer and rebounder.

    1) How's the new life with wifey?
    2) What are your top 10 rap or R&B songs, (C'mon, at least 5 then!)
    3) What do you do when you're bored?

    1) Yeah, that whole thing didn't work out. [IMG] But I learned a valuable lesson that most of JBB can learn from: don't even think about settling down with a girl until you're pusing 25 [IMG]

    2) I can't narrow it down, so I'll tell you what I like [IMG] - I've always liked Biggie (come on, us big guys have to stick together!), and the 'Fiesta' remix with R Kelly and Jay Z has always been one that sticks in my head. Um..Public Enemy is cool, but my favorite R&B/Rap act is easily the Roots. The Seed 2.0 is probably my all-time favorite quasi-rap song. I don't have anything against Rap or R&B, I just like something with a smooth guitar part more than a synthesized beat. And memo to rappers: quit friggin stealing classic rock songs!!! [IMG]

    3) I feel like I don't usually have time to be bored LOL. Usually just try to catch up on any sports news I've missed, play guitar, read. I read a lot, actually [IMG] Uh, other than that, I sometimes get the urge to cook. [IMG]

    Swish

    How's life?

Who made that sexy avatar of yours?

Do you still hope to work in sports journalism one day? Is Sports Illustrated still your dream job?

    1) Can't complain. [IMG]

    2) I'm not sure....I think he's a pretty decent writer who dabbles in graphics...I also heard he looks a bit like Shaggy from Scoobey Doo [IMG]

    3) For sure. I don't think SI is really the right fit for me in the grand scheme - if I could do anything, I'd write a quasi-daily college sports column for a Wisconsin paper, and just be content to pursue my other hobbies while also being totally immersed in the Badgers for a career. I don't think I'm cut out to be the type of traveling magazine writer, just because I don't want to commit my life to always moving around and following things that don't hold my interest like college sports, and especially the Bagders, do. If writing doesn't work out, I might go to school up in Canada for awhile and make studying bears a career. I'm probably the only person you'll ever meet who could be content with my lot in life totally alone on top of a freezing mountain analyzing bear crap, but that's my crazy ass [IMG] [IMG]

    Carter

    Vince Carter or Michael Redd?

    1) I'd take Redd, but only because he's younger and more unselfish. Carter is probably the better player still, because he can be as dominant a scorer as anyone and has a more diverse game than Redd.
    ...

    Bobcats

Who's question sucked more, Carters or Lockes?

Is Michael Redd a franchise player in your opinion?

Brett Favre is coming back, will the Pack improve from 8-8 and make the playoffs?

    1) Locke's, but only because I'm pretty sure he's seen a picture of me! [IMG]

    2) I wouldn't put him in that class, but he's darn close. Redd's one of the very best scorers and shooters in the game today, but he's not much more than average as a playmaker, rebounder or defender. To me, a guy who you're going to build your future around either must effect the game in every way (a la Kobe or Wade), or be a dominant big.

    3) I think it's a bit too early to say, because the draft and free agency both figure to lead to major personel upgrades for us this year. However, I think it's reasonable to expect a slight improvement, probably only to 9-7. I think that the Packers were as bad an 8-8 team as there's ever been, because we won most of our final games against awful teams. But we should get a bit better. *crosses fingers*

    Umair

Will Rockets go deep into the playoffs?

What's your favorite color and why?

    Favorite brand and why?

    1) As long as Yao and T Mac are healthy, I wouldn't be suprised to see them in the Westert Finals. Battier has always been one of my favorite players, and he's having a huge year, while guys like Luther Head and Alston have stepped up in the abscence of the stars. I think Van Gundy will do well in the playoffs with this team.

    2) I've always liked blue and orange; it's a tie.

    3) I'm not sure exactly what brand you mean. The only things I have a 'name brand' mentality about are electronics and guitar stuff. I drive a Honda Accord [IMG] As far as clothes and stuff goes, I'm happy with cheap t-shirts most of the time, jeans and cheap khakis (mostly because I wear them at work) or a Badger sweatshirt.

    1) How's it like being a Bucks fan?
    2) How do you rate the Bucks forum on JBB?
    3) Who is Riot?

    1) It's kinda frustrating, honestly. We've had two of the 10-12 greatest players in NBA history, but we're sort of a backwater team because we haven't done much since Kareem and Oscar left. And Redd is the first potential franchise guy we've had since Allen. I don't begrudge that image, because the Bucks have been, save for a couple good years in 1999-2002, a picture of mediocrity. [IMG]

    2) I think it's pretty good. I wish there were more Bucks fans on the site; there's not always a lot of conversation. And unfortunately, the more I add to the conversation is mostly just negatives about Stotts and the team's frustrating inconsistency. But I think we've got some good Bucks fans here, and with a young and improving team (and some good health), I think our forum will just get better.

    3) A Magic fan...and righteous dude

    1. Top 3 favorite Led Zep songs?
    2. Who's your pick to win it all this year?
    3. Maurice Williams or T.J. Ford?

    1) Kashmir, Going to California, Tangerine

    2) I'm picking the Spurs. I'm probably wrong, but if they can add either another big or an athletic wing before the trade deadline, I think they've got all the pieces to make another run. Duncan is healthy, and Manu and Parker know how to get it done in the Finals. It's just a matter of getting there, because Phoenix and Dallas are both tremendous teams.

    3) I have a hard time picking between the two, because they're pretty similar. Mo is the better scorer, but TJ the superior playmaker. They both struggle with turnovers and are inconsistent defensively. Just for homer's sake, I'd like to take Mo, because he's endeared himself to Bucks fans with his big-shot ability the past couple years. However, if I could get TJ to play smarter, he'd be my guy because of his superior playmaking ability.

    1. Why is NBA basketball so inferior to college ball?

    2. Why will your Badgers lose to my Heels in March (possibly April)?

    3. Who would you want to see your Packers draft?

    1) I wish I didn't always come off sounding so critical of the NBA. The only issues I have is that many teams seem to play disorganized offensively, and even more play poor defense. What I really like about the college game is the intensity on defense, and the team game. The NBA feels like it's just a superstar having iso plays run for him every posession sometimes. It just doesn't feel the same to me watching pro ball. The NBA playoffs are excellent, though, and I'd rank them ahead of every major pro sport other than hockey.

    2) Oh, ye of little faith [IMG] I'd love to see UW go up against the Heels. UNC is one of the only teams that can match the Badgers' depth, and they have the most talent in the country. Hansbrough would probably own Brian Butch, but the Badgers do have plenty of solid bigs. We did a good job on Oden earlier this year, and DJ White didn't kill us in our loss this week. Guard play would be the big advantage for UNC. I think Taylor would get his points, but the Tar Heel guards can just push the ball faster than he's capable of playing. I would like to see Flowers vs. Ellington, though. Tucker would probably be tough for the Heels to handle; remember that he went for 25 in our 80-84 loss two years ago to UNC in the Elite 8. The Heels have enough depth in the frontcourt to bang him up, but he'd get his points as well. I think the game would come down to pace and the Badger defense; if we could contain UNC's guards, we would have a chance. I also like Landry's matchup against UNC; if he and Tuck are in the game together, Terry could only defend one of them. I think UNC would win, but not by much. There's always the experience factor, too...

    3) Well, knowing now what a fan of trading down Ted Thompson is, my dream scenario would be to trade down in the 1st and pick up Antonio Pittman (RB). Then, we could nab a WR like Chansi Stuckey or Robert Meachem and a TE like Clark Harris in the 2nd and/or 3rd round. I want to see us upgade at CB, in the early/middle rounds, and add depth to the offensive line and some pass-rush ability off the edge in the later rounds.

    1. Let's say David stern was fired and you were appointed comish; what would your first few moves be?

    2. If there was one player that you could ban from playing basketball ever again, who would it be?

    3. Are you a Matt Bonner fan?

    1) Well, I'd probably be in just as much trouble as him pretty soon, LOL. I'd lift the ban on jewelry and watches, etc, but keep the ban on street clothes. I'd make the shot clock 30 seconds long to facilitate more offensive flow and passing (probably a pipe dream), and I would eliminate fan voting for the All-Star game. I would also impose a rule that any time a player confrontation in any way invloves players initiating contact with fans, an automatic one year suspension (postseason included) will be the punishment. That means that Artest and Stephen Jackson would've been gone a couple years ago. I've got no huge problem with players fighting - it happens in every sport at least once a year. But when the paying customers are the ones made uncomfortable by the players' actions, especially given the unfortunate incidents the past couple years, it has to be considered 100% unacceptable.

    2) Ron Artest...and I'd send a memo to Roger Goddell to see if he couldn't take a que and get rid of T.O [IMG]

    3) Yes and no. I liked him in college, but I think he's become a bit to prone to drift to the 3pt line and launch 'em in the NBA. Obviously he plays that way because he's a weapon as a 6'7" guy who can stroke it out there, but I think he's got untapped ability in the paint. He's always been a crafty player.

    1. What do you think Kobe's legacy will be when he retires?

    2. Do you agree with me that Lebron is overrated at this point and that DWade is actually creating a gap between them?

    3. What is the worst question that someone has asked so far? (You can't say any of my questions by default [IMG] )

    1) I think he'll be remembered as one of the greatest players of all time; he's one of a handful of guys who can dominate every phase of the game, and he's shown the ability to make his team a contender almost single-handedly. I think he'll also be known as a guy who had a hand in breaking up what could've been one of the all-time great dynasties, and a player who was either loved or hated. But there's no doubting that whatever a person may feel about Kobe personally, they must admit that he's a rare player and one of the best of his generation.

    2) I wouldn't say there's much of a gap between them, but Wade played at a higher level than LeBron while Shaq was hurt. LeBron is having what, for him, may be classified a pedestrian season. I'm partial to Wade for a variety of reasons; he's already claimed a title and proven himself one of the best all-around players in the league. He is what the NBA should build itself around, on the court and off it. And of course, he's got Wisconsin ties [IMG] I think that LeBron may one day be the better player; it's always important, in my opinion, to keep in mind just how young LeBron is. Wade has years of college experience - at a championship level - and that's got to be a bit of an advantage he's got over James at this point. But they're both tremendous players, and I expect them to compete for the title of league's best player for the next decade.

    3) None of 'em are bad - I'm surprised so many people actually care what I think [IMG]

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting schaddy:</div><div class="quote_post">1) It depends on two things: guard play and health.

But as for McDonalds or Burger King... I figure I'm a big enough dude without all that

    3) I'm a cat person. I like their independance, and the only baby animal that's...well...cuter than a kitten is a bear cub I had a gerbil when I was young, so they're always cool in my book, too.</div>

    - Good luck to Wisconsin, even if our states are rivals I'd like to see them win it over UNC or Florida since illinois has pretty much tanked this NCAA season.

    - I don't think the sub shops count, I'm all for eating at places like Quizno's or Subway over Burger King or any other similar place.

    - I have to say the kitten is cuter then the bear cub. lol

Ugh...we never got that far [IMG]

I hope Illinois continues to improve, M Two One - the Big 10 needs another team to emerge, and at 18-8, Illinois has a head start over squads like Iowa or Michigan State [IMG]

They've actually been playing pretty well lately. They've gotten a couple big wins on the road recently...and if I do recall...beat you Badgers (at Carver Hawkeye though). They're a young team that's starting to play very well so I'd really watch out for them down the stretch here and wouldn't be surprised if they make noise come Big 10 Tourney time.

[IMG] Indiana beat us, not Iowa - we led by 10+ most of the game at Iowa.

I agree the Hawks are playing much better; problem is they lost so many games early that it'll be tough to build enough of a tourney resume to impress the selection comittee. They'd have to make a run in the Big 10 tourney, too. Not to say it can't happen - Tyler Smith is a stud, and Haluska is really underrated.

Yeah, Arizona-UCLA has turned into a rivalry lately, so has Arizona-UW but it's cool that you enjoy a lot of rivalries

That moose story is pretty funny, I bet you were running really fast with a beast probably 2x your size (don't know how big moose are [IMG] ) chasing after you.

Reggie White is a good guy to look up to but your grandma must be a pretty cool person since you ended up with a great personality, she watch CBB with you? If so [IMG]

^ Yeah, my grandma is a big Badger + Packer fan [IMG] She also is the reason I'm a Cubs fan. Used to always watch WGN Cubs games chilling at her house when I was little.

And I think the moose was more like 4x my size [IMG] Those things are MASSIVE! Males can stand 7 feet tall, and they're mean. I'll bet the one that got after me was nothing more than an average sized female, but it seemed like there was a Mack truck with spikes on my heels [IMG]

And Tyler Smith is a freaking stud. I'll be very disappointed if he doesn't make the All Big Ten Freshmen team, though with that class that OSU has, it could be hard. As for a tourney run, if we can land a couple more big victories by seasons end and end strong and come close to that 20 win margin (14 right now I believe), I think we'll have a decent case for the tourney. The one that could kill us is our abysmal road record though, so I'm really hoping we can keep the momentum going and keep tacking on the wins.
