<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Consensus coming into this season was that Chris Paul was the best young point guard in the Association. Many people sill believe that with the All Star break just a little over a week away.

However, for anyone who has truly paid attention to NBA basketball in 2006-07, it's clear that Chris Paul can no longer be unanimously handed the title of best young point guard. In fact, at this juncture Deron Williams doesn't just have a slight lead on Paul but a fairly substantial one.

Don't misunderstand: choosing between Williams and Paul is like choosing between those two cars you've always wanted. No matter what happens, you're going to end up with something that drives superbly, will last for a long time and will make the neighbor's jaw drop.

That said, Williams is clearly the Bentley of young point guards right now.

The individual numbers for the two point guards are almost scary identical. The only number which differs substantially is wins, with Williams having the clear advantage in that category.

Yes, the Hornets have been decimated by injuries so far this season which has most definitely had a significant impact on the team's level of success. However, it's not like the Jazz have been healthy all year, either. Moreover, Williams has stepped up and played some of his best basketball recently with Carlos Boozer out of the line-up. This recent stretch included a big win in Phoenix over the Suns.</div>

I think while this article tries to be fair, it clearly isn't. Williams is surrounded by much better players, and Jerry Sloan in great for bringing along point guards. Chris Paul is the biggest weapon among very few in N.O.

Did you read the article? Boozer and Okur are having CAREER seasons. This means that Williams is making his teammates better. Plus Boozer is injured now and Jazz are still winning.

Are you kidding? Okur is one of the most under rated players in the league....even last year. Boozer has always been good, don't give all the credit to williams. He isn't steve nash. Don't give all the credit for good play to a PG.
