Melo should be starting in this game, he's leading the league in scoring. Mhemet Okur definately shouldn't make it over Melo but maybe Howard.

I see the only weird thing about u too big Okur for Allstar is both u guys are jazz fans and one's in a Okur fan club! Melo is like number 9 on my list of favs so I can care less bout him but come on know outside of your dying love for the jazz. Who in they right mind is gonna buy a ticket to see okur instead of anthony that's not a jazz fan. Okur will always be a role player and all star game isn't for role players it's for all stars team leaders. Besides Parker but he's a proven all star and don't say marion and stoudamire because we all know they are both stars......now MIchael Redd deserved to make it but it's not all about team records. Wait......okur isn't even the best player on the jazz so what am I writing about him not making the all star game 4.........im done.....lol

I'm glad you're done. You are 19 yet your post resembles that of an 11 year old.

Of course we are Jazz fans. If we weren't, we wouldn't be able to watch Okur play and see what he can do. That is why Jazz goes unnoticed.

Isn't that what voting for the all star starters is for though? Allowing the fans to vote for the players they want to see the most. Okur isn't exactly a highlight machine (though he does make some impressive clutch shots), but that shouldn't count against him when it comes to making the all star reserves. There's far more to the all star game than selling tickets.

Eh'em, if anything I don't like the Jazz. The Rockets are trying to beat them record wise in order to get homecourt advantage in the playoffs.

I do believe clutch shots are the best part about NBA basketball, and that's what Okur brings.

Edit: And it only makes sense for the 4th best team in the league to have at least one player represent for their fans in the ASG.

Agreed. I do think Randolph is finally on the right track, I was hoping to see him make it.

Well sorry guys guess Im not the only 11 year old. This was posted on nba.com.

Oh and when Okur takes that next step and averages more than 17 ppg and not even 3 assists holla and me and try to make him sound like a great player. My 5 year nephew old know okur aint sh**

    (Garrett W. Ellwood/NBAE/Getty Images)
-- I am psyched that NBA commissioner David Stern picked Carmelo Anthony and Josh Howard as the injury replacements for Yao Ming and Carlos Boozer because I saw it the same way. Elton Brand, Mehmet Okur, and Ray Allen were close, but the commissioner got it right with Melo and Josh, who both make their All-Star debuts in Vegas, baby.

I felt good about Melo making it when Stern invited Nate Robinson to defend his slam dunk championship despite his 10-game suspension for the scuffle at MSG. Melo, who lost 15 games for his punch during the melee, was contrite and remorseful about his actions, and he did not appeal his suspension. Plus, Melo is a heckuva guy, and that all led to the NBA's leading scorer finally making the big game.

Well think what you want about Memo but he had 13 in the 4th to bring Utah back from 10 and scored 9 of our last 11 points to get us into overtime. Did I mention he was sick today with the stomach flu? He's the whole reason Utah is so good right now, what's Melo's excuse for his team? [IMG]

Melos team won today to. Im not a melo supporter like that to care how good he does. Your argument was Okur shoulda made the all star game cuz of melo, besides what I and nba.com just proved to u plus the stats I gave let that fans speak on who should play like u said shall we

    Carmelo Anthony (Den) 1,309,945
    Mehmet Okur (Utah) 339,247

So melo has bout 4x's the votes as Okur. Oh
    Amar? Stoudemire (Pho) 1,209,333; Erick Dampier (Dal) 385,179; Marcus Camby (Den) 373,382;

How does someone get beat by dampier and camby and u try to say let the fans speak wlell they just did.Lol Okur over melo.......hilarious I guess 1,309,945 fans that voted for melo are all 11 years old huh

When did I say let the fans speak [IMG] It's crazy that your basing this on what a bunch of people who probably don't even watch the NBA except their own team and biased fans think. Dampier is on a really good Mavs team so he gets tons of coverage on TV and Marcus Camby is known but Memo goes under the radar with the rest of the Utah players. Only one that gets hype is Boozer because he's putting up the double-doubles every night.

As for Nuggets winning tonight, they're still 7 games worse than Utah [IMG] And guess what, Memo & Melo both had 29 points today while Memo took only 22 shots & Melo took 28. Memo scored 9 down the stretch, 13 in the 4th while Melo only scored a measly 5 points in the 4th. Oh, did I mention Memo had the flu too [IMG]

The whole issue I have with this is that they replaced 2 big men on the West squad with swingmen, it just isn't right. It's obviously not how most people think it should work. I just can't find a reason in my mind why you do that? Who cares if there is another swingman out there, that just means there is less minutes to see all the guard while the big men might actually have to play actual game minutes. If I'm a owner, I sure as hell don't want my 10 million dollar investment playing extended minutes in a meaningless game.

I thought you were done too.....

Both Melo and Memo deserve to play in the all star game. However, they should have replaced BIG MEN with BIG MEN.

And Okur was fantastic tonight. No other word to describe it.

Yeah honestly if they picked a big men or if they had to go big then memo. But this is the nba all star game. The commisioner has a job that needs money to thrive and besides the fact he was more deserving he puts fans in the seat. Plus I don't ever remember a year when the league leading scorer did not make the nba all star game. Tell me if Im wrong but that's really unheard.

If u had a job would u put a bad(melo) but smarter(doing better stats) and better looking female(sales more) as a secretary or a good(no fights okur) but not as smart(good year does not lead the league n anything tough) and good(doesn't sell **** really just said good sales to be nice) looking female to fill your position.

I know weird analogy but u guy get the point. Overall melo was more derserving and was what the fans commisioner and nba.com anaylst said was the better pick. There's really no more to debate.Thank....u like Agent Zero...that's the buzzer beater
