They seem to get drop lower and lower in the rankings... they cant even beat the raptors and get an above .500 road trip...
Again, like I said, I'm just so tired of this team. They bring your spirits up, only to take them down. We have way too much talent on this squad to be losing the way we are. The Raptors are a good team, but they are, by no means a better team than the Lakers. Tonight, once again, we were just stupid. I have no idea how many three pointers we decide to take. It's just one three after three. Lamar Odom has been horrible ever since returning from the injury. The guy is probably the softest player I have ever seen. To have so much height and strength, it's amazing how he decides to never drive, or attack the basket. Kobe Bryant, well, Kobe has just been horrible lately. He can't go one game without turning over the ball 500 times
<div class="quote_poster">Bobcats Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Sounds like the Raptors should've been an automatic win according to you.</div> The Raptors were a very winnable game, but once again, we fail to take advantage. But then again, we've already lost to teams like the Pacers, Bucks, Bobcats twice and Hornets twice so I'm not suprised that we lost to the Raptors.
I expected us to beat the Kobes easily but we came out flat and didn't make our free throws. It was a sloppy game for both teams but we got the W, and thats all that matters.
The Lakers are now 10-9 without Kwame Brown. The Raptors defend their homecourt well, and are not the same walk-over team they were last season. Sam Mitchell did a solid job of coaching down the stretch when the Lakers got back into the game with an 11-0 run. The Raptors were settling for 3-pointers and stopped getting the ball to Chris Bosh. Once the Lakers got within 3 points, Mitchell called timeout and made sure his team got the ball to Bosh the rest of the way. It led to Bosh going to the line for 2, he hit 20 footer, and it also freed Mo Pete on the perimeter for a clutch 3 pointer. Still the Lakers could have given themselves a better chance to win if Odom had grabbed that damn rebound instead of letting Anthony Parker out work him for it. That was the game right there. Lakers can still salvage this road trip with a win on Sunday going 4-4 is respectable and keeps them 10 games above .500 and on pace for a 50 win season. I know the Lakers are frustrating from game to game, but I still like the all around improvements. Last year we were struggling to stay at the .500 mark for most of the season.

Luke? Are you kidding...he's been struggling mightily before going down. Like Shape pointed out, we're 10-9 since losing Kwame. That speaks volumes, to me.

He's a monster on the boards and he was actually being aggressive and going to the paint. He was discouraged because he didn't get a few calls, but I thought he played very solid tonight. The problem was that this team decided to not get Bynum involved, as he was a non-factor all night. Also, Vlad was absolutely awful and is apparently allergic to the paint.
It's an 82 game season, every team is going to through some good stages and some not so good stages. While the Lakers aren't playing at their best right now during this long road trip, it may only take just a couple of wins for them to turn it around.
I'm calling for more of the 05-06 Kobe. We need him to carry us right now untill we can get healthy. It's either that or start playing some defense.
It's better Laker's don't play TOP quality ball now, all the teams that waste their energy trying to maintain the top seed will burnout.
Yeah we need to have Kobe carry us and start having 50 point games. Indeed,Luke was a key player in the beginning of the season so we need to get him back asap. Odom needs start being a woosy and post up more. He might be a monmster on the boards but needs to start attacking more. We need to trade Chris, McKie, for Ron Artest. Or else forget about this season and mind as well wait two more years until Bynum develops and KG comes to LA. So dissapointed with this team.

All i can say is that we need kobe's killer instinct! he and odom need to kill the team AND get his teammates involved at the same time
Honest to God, some of you Laker fans are so damn impatient (even though I'm a Laker fan myself, I'm not that impatient when it comes to my teams - see Raptors). If you guys lose some games, you start panicing and saying we need to trade this person and that person, and Mitch needs to be fired. The next game, the same player you wanted to get traded before makes a big play and you're all over his nuts again. Relax. It's a long season, they're on a ROAD TRIP for 8 games and they're bound to get tired after a while and slow down. By the way, I find it hilarious that some of you guys act as if the Raptors are a cakewalk to beat. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> We need to trade Chris, McKie, for Ron Artest. </div> Yes, because every team in the league wants to see the Lakers win the championship right?
Yeah, we haven't been playing well recently. But I still haven't lost my hope. It wasn't just our road trip, sh*t happens. We still have the best scorer on our team who can hold this team on his shoulders when needed (provement: last season's 35.5 PPG).
