Several sources this morning have confirmed that the Lions will strongly consider taking a quarterback with the ninth overall pick if A.J. Hawk, Michael Huff and Ernie Sims are gone. The Lions will still try to trade down , but a quarterback is definitely in the picture.

Taking a quarterback doesn't make much sense to me because this team needs help immediately -- especially on defense -- but my sources say the Lions especially like Vince Young and Jay Cutler.

And it's possible that Detroit's three targeted defensive players could be gone because teams are very interested in those three -- and know the Lions are, too -- and might try to leapfrog in front of Detroit to get them. The two teams most willing to trade out will be Oakland and Buffalo because they know they can get their own targeted players a few picks later.

I'm also hearing that some teams behind the Lions are very interested in grabbing Winston Justice so a trade in front of Detroit for him would help the Lions. It's going to be a very interesting few hours. Stay tuned.</div>

Whether it's Leinart or Cutler. I'll feel sorry for them. It's not that the Lions are terrible. They have no luck with QB's. I think someone like Michael Huff though would really be nice. As a Packer fan Huff scares me. I can just see Rodgers throwing it to Huff for pick 6 in the future. Nightmares suck man...

Its doubtful that this many people are gone - if they are, then it is more likely that one of the top two QBs are on the board.

Gee! Has Martz bullied Marinelli already?? ROFL. I am surprised it took this long.

Seriously; the Lions need to keep Harrington and draft a QB. That way between the 5 QB's maybe they can Frankenstein one together?

I think it's smoke myself. I say it'll be Hawk or Huff.

Just like Killer said, Sims if Hawk and Huff are gone. The Lions will have the best set of linebackers in the NFC North with Boss Baily, Teddy Lehman and Ernie Sims. Speed Rules!

More like the third best set of linebackers, but whatever...
