I just went to Hoopshype.com and the headline reads :

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> The Kings and the Cavaliers had trade conversations involving guard Mike Bibby, according to the Sacramento Bee</div>

I will look for a source in the meantime check out :

Selection of text from Hoopshype: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">

As the Kings point guard waits for his fate with the Feb. 22 trading deadline looming, he knows as much as anyone that his services have been put on the leaguewide table. Among the trade conversations -- according to three sources close to the team who didn't want to be identified because they were not authorized to speak -- were talks between the Kings and Cleveland as to what sort of deal would benefit both sides. Sacramento Bee

Bibby has made clear his preference to stay in Sacramento and wishes the Kings shared the sentiment. "It just shows what type of people you're dealing with, really," said Bibby, who is shooting a career-low 39.0 percent overall and just 30.5 percent from three-point range. "I just have to wait it out, to see if they're going to turn their back on me or whatever." Sacramento Bee

Bibby's contention, though, is that the faithful turned too fast. Even after the glory days with Chris Webber and Vlade Divac faded in the rearview mirror, Bibby led the team in scoring last season. He had to make major adjustments in the late playoff push, when the Kings' offense became post-heavy, while Ron Artest was being deified for the turnaround. Sacramento Bee

"If (the Kings) are willing to give up on me after one bad shooting year, then that's the way they are," Bibby said. "I think I've had pretty good years before this one. The first 22 games (this season), I didn't shoot the ball too well because I had a messed-up hand. I was still out there trying to help the team, trying to do everything I can. To have one season where I shoot (poorly) ... and have everybody turn on me like that, it's kind of frustrating." Sacramento Bee</div>

I don't know how legitimate this is, what do the cavs have to offer and do we want Bibby considering his low shooting % ?

The way Daniel Gibson has been playing lately , I say groom him to be the point guard of the future. But Bibby probably needs a change of scenary and his numbers may improve if he plays with Lebron.

    but who goes?
Obviously LeBron stays. We have some trade bait, like Varejao and possibly Gooden and Marshall (my guess is that at least one of them would go), but would we want to let Andy go?

Cleveland doesn't have enough chips to pull off a deal with Sacramento to acquire Bibby. Even though he's struggling this season, Bibby is still better than anyone on the Cavs roster, other than LeBron of course. If Sacramento does get rid of Bibby then it's clear they are looking to rebuild and the Cavs don't have any expiring contracts or good enough young talent to land Bibby.

Bibby's numbers will change with LeBron. Cavs do need a change, who cares that East is weak. They will never beat Pistons in a 7 game series with the current roster (imo).

Bibby would be a nice add but who would we give up? 2 people or 1 player and a future draft pick?

Varejao and somebody else, maybe a draft pick.

Bibby's just the type of guy they need to bring in.

After watching last night's game, the Cavs definitely need Varejao on the team. He made the difference on the court by drawing charges, playing outstanding defense on Odom, and getting his hands on offensive rebounds.

If the Cavs are able, they should trade Larry Hughes to Sacramento for Mike Bibby straight up. He's a terrible fit for the Cavs, because Hughes is not efficient in halfcourt sets. Hughes is more productive with teams who push tempo where he can get out on the breaks like he did with the Wizards.

Then what would the line up be? I kind of like that trade, and the salaries work (RealGM)

Perhaps they would line up as:
    C Z
    PF Drew
    SF 'Bron
    SG Bibby
    PG Gibson

It's going to be hard to move Hughes. He's injury prone and has a horrible contract.

I'd probably go with this lineup ...

    PG - Bibby
    SG - Pavlovic
    SF - LeBron
    PF - Gooden
    C - Ilgauskas

Bobcats - It will definitely be hard to move Larry Hughes because of his contract and health concerns, but he might workout better for the Kings. It would depend on the direction their franchise wants to take.

Don't think Kings would go after that with Martin at the 2. I hope Bibby gets traded so we can see Uber Douby get some action [IMG]

Well I'd imagine the Kings are going to have a complete roster shakeup if they end up trading Bibby. They seem to have drafted the same player the 3 years with Martin, Garcia, and Douby all doing pretty much the same thing. Hughes would add to the logjam, but he's versatile enough to play three positions on the court, including PG and SF.

I would trade Hughes before I even thought about giving up Andy.

New line up could look something like this depending on if we decide to give Pippen a shot.

    PG - Bibby
    SG - Pippen
    SF - LeBron
    PF - Gooden
    C - Ilgauskas

I'd keep Gibson, Sasha, Andy, and Marshall and trade the rest so that we have a solid team to build on in the future.

LOL Scottie Pippen's return. I think Bibby for Hughes straight up. Keep Varejo as he's a beast. Hughes can play PG so the Kings won't be hurt that much. LeBron, Bibby and Big Z would be a nice combo in the East.

If ur a Kings fan you don't want Hughes for Bibby, as much as I would like to see it happen it seems that it won't

sounds as thoughh Gooden may be involved in a three-team trade so, perhaps the Cavs will look like this:
    PG Bibby
    SG Hughes
    SF James
    PF Varejao
    C Ilgauskas
