Am I the only one that thinks this year's tournament is going to be freaking crazy? There are so many evenly matched teams that I think pretty much everyone who makes the big dance has a chance to go all the way...

I've been looking at it and saying "damn, none of these teams are really worth a ****." On an unrelated note, I'm worried as hell about MSU. What do you think their chances of making the tourny are? At the moment, I think they're on the outside looking in, but they have a bunch of quality non-conference wins against the mid-majors like Bradley, BYU, Vermont, etc. and even a win against Texas, so who knows. It all depends on how they fair in these last few games I guess, but they've got Wisconsin coming up.
It doesn't look good for Michigan State right now, but if they can win their next two games against Michigan and Iowa, and beat Wisconsin in one of their two meetings, then they should be a lock to make it...so basically, if they can get to the 20-win mark, they should be in.

After much soul-searching, and having watched them last night in a game when neither team could hit a friggin outside shot, my vote this week will go to Gainesville at least for this week 1. Florida 2. Wisconsin 3. UNC 4. UCLA 5. Ohio State 6. Texas A&M 7. Pitt 8. Kansas 9. Wazzou 10. Nevada 11. Oregon 12. 1) Wisconsin – 122 (2) With UCLA losing this past week, Wisconsin got enough of their votes to reclaim the top spot in our poll, which they've held for five of the last six weeks, only taking a slight dip after a road-loss to #18 Indiana. 2) Florida – 120 (2) The Gators have been the unanimous #1 team in the AP and ESPN polls for a while now, but have yet to garner the same respect from every JBB poll voter. In fairness to our voters, the Gators don't exactly have the Strength of Schedule or RPI to match their high rankings elsewhere, but they're creeping up on our top spot slowly but surely. 3) North Carolina – 118 (1) North Carolina is the top three-loss team in our poll, and it's not hard to see why. After all, the Heels have played one of the ten toughest schedules in the nation at this point and have come out very successful, winning games over the likes of #6 Ohio State, #20 Winthrop, #22 Arizona, #24 Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Tennessee, and Kentucky. 4) UCLA – 108 While the Bruins held onto their #1 ranking in the RPI, they fell three spots in our weekly poll after losing to West Virginia over the weekend without the services of starting point guard Darren Collison. They'll get a chance to redeem themselves with a game coming up this saturday on the road against #22 Arizona though. 5) Texas A&M – 105 After a slow start, the Aggies are living up to their preseason expectations, winning 14 of their last 15 games, led by the play of Big 12 Player of the Year candidate Acie Law IV, who recorded a career-high 15 assists in a recent blowout over Texas, a promising sign for a player who's often criticized for not being a 'pure' point guard. 6) Ohio State – 102 The Buckeyes may have one of the top records in the nation at 22-3, but they've yet to prove themselves against top tier competition, looking out of place against the other elites (Wisconsin, Florida, and North Carolina). Greg Oden is finally become a legitimate option in the team's offense though, so the sky's the limit for this group of talented youngsters. 7) Pittsburgh – 95 Usually sitting atop of the Big East with a 22-3 record would get you higher than a #7 ranking, but this is an off year for the Big East as a whole, and the Panthers are largely unproven with only two or three marquee wins to hang their hats on at this point. It's hard to get too down on a team led by a dominant All-American big man like Aaron Gray though. 8) Washington State – 87 The Cougars' early loss to the Utah Utes is pretty much a distant memory at this point with the way they've been playing in conference action. The Pac-10 is without a doubt the best conference in the NCAA, so carrying a 10-3 conference record at this point in the season is a huge accomplishment for Wazzou. 9) Kansas – 83 The underclassmen have been huge for the Jayhawks, but as their loss to Texas A&M two Saturdays ago showed us, their more experienced players need to take their game to the next level if this team's going to go anywhere in March. Players like Sasha Kaun, Russell Robinson, and Darnell Jackson will be critical in their postseason success. 10) Nevada – 80 Call them overrated, but the Wolfpack have been winning ball games, regardless of how "easy" their schedule may be. At this point in the season, not too many teams can boast a 22-2 record. Nick Fazekas also looks like the favorite for NCAA Player of the Year at this point, albeit by a very slim margin over Wisconsin's Alando Tucker. 11) Oregon – 74 Record: 20-5 (8-5) Key wins: @ #13 Georgetown, #4 UCLA, @ #22 Arizona, @ #9 Washington State Losses: #21 Southern Cal, @ Washington, @ #4 UCLA, @ #21 Southern Cal, #22 Arizona 12) Butler – 67 Record: 23-3 (11-2) Key wins: @ Notre Dame, #18 Indiana, @ Tennessee, Gonzaga, Wright State Losses: @ Indiana State, @ Ill-Chicago, @ Wright State 13) Georgetown – 57 Record: 18-5 (8-2) Key wins: Notre Dame, #17 Marquette Losses: Old Dominion, #11 Oregon, @ Duke, Villanova, @ #7 Pittsburgh 14) Southern Illinois – 45 Record: 21-5 (12-3) Key wins: Wichita State, Missouri State, @ Creighton, @ Wichita State, Creighton Losses: Arkansas, @ #18 Indiana, @ Northern Iowa, @ Bradley, @ Evansville 15) Memphis – 44 Record: 21-3 (11-0) Key wins: Kentucky Losses: Georgia Tech, @ Tennessee, @ #22 Arizona 16) Oklahoma State – 43 Record: 19-5 (5-4) Key wins: @ Missouri State, @ Syracuse, #7 Pittsburgh, Texas Losses: @ Tennessee, @ #9 Kansas, @ #5 Texas A&M, @ Colorado, @ Oklahoma 17) Marquette - 42 Record: 21-5 (8-3) Key Wins: @ Duke, #23 West Virginia, @ #7 Pittburgh, Providence Losses: N.D.
