<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Peter Vecsey, who first reported the trade that brought Jason Kidd to the Nets, is now reporting serious discussions between the Nets and Lakers about Kidd's exit. Throwing out names and draft picks that could be dealt, Vecsey says Kidd may be traded at the deadline as part of a rebuilding effort. Vecsey writes the Cavaliers are also interested. But the LA Times quotes Laker GM Mitch Kupchak as saying he's unlikely to make a deal at the deadline and the Cavs' interest seems centered on Mike Bibby.</div>

Kobe and Kidd would just be unfair lol, but it's definitley turn the Lakers into contenders.

So who would we get return for Kidd? Brown, Parker, and a couple of draft picks?? [IMG]

I thought it was funny how they had to throw that little fact in the middle. As if to say: "No really, his rumour might have an ounce of credibility."

If the Nets really are thinking of starting a rebuilding effort, as the article says, Carter is clearly the person to be traded.

^True, but if Carter goes so will Kidd. Kidd deserves more than to be part of a rebuilding effort at this point in his great career.

They have nothing we want. Rod Thorn won't trade our best player ever for a sack of garbage and low draft picks.

Exactly. Why would we do this trade? And for the Cavs I don't see anything either.

Shannon Brown? You guys would probably have to take either Hughes or Z to make contracts matchup, and a couple draft picks most likely...

But this is Jason Kidd we are talking about. Mr. Triple Double.

Shannon Brown??? Shannon Brown? The same Shannon Brown on that underachieving Michigan State team last year? The same Shannon Brown that couldn't beat Daniel Gibson or Eric Snow in the rotation? For Jason Kidd? I don't care if Jason Kidd is on crutches I'd take Kidd over him. I'd take Brown's high school teammate, Dee Brown, over him. Don't insult Jason Kidd.

Shannan brown can play for sure. just because he isnt producing in his rookie year doesnt mean anything. he was one of the most athletic (if not the most athletic) players in last years draft. He can shoot the 3 and he would be perfect in a transition game like the one new jersey could run with him and williams in the backcourt in new jersey. However, i really dont see kidd getting traded to either of those teams unless Bynum from the lakers or Drew Gooden is thrown in from the cavs. This team is DESPERATE for big men.

    No Kidding: No deal

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Nets don't have any players Rod Thorn would label as untouchable. But that doesn't mean the Nets' president is close to dealing either Vince Carter or Jason Kidd, or that he's even thinking about it.

In fact, the team the Nets had yesterday could be the one they have when the Feb.22 trade deadline passes. </div>

I agree. I'd rather see him traded to L.A.
