We all say we need a SG, we all keep saying Vince, blah blah blah. What about Pierce though? I'm sure he isn't happy tanking for Oden, and being on a losing team year after year. I haven't looked at cap/money factors, is it possible? What do you guys think?
I'm a huge fan of Paul Pierce. He's kind of underrated IMO. All the talk has been about Kobe, Vince and T-Mac in the past, and now it's all been Kobe, Wade, and Lebron. Pierce is a great player, and he should do wonders for the Magic. The guy's a hard worker, and you certainly won't see him slack off on the court like a certain someone *cough* *cough* Vince Carter The Celtics are in rebuilding mode, and it seems like Pierce wants to win now, given his comments on the Celtic's draft pick. I'm not sure if the Celtics are willing to deal him or not, but sooner or later, I'm pretty sure Pierce will get sick and tired of all the losing. Him and Dwight Howard would be an awesome duo

I'm pretty sure that you guys can't do that trade without giving up Dwight (which obviously the last thing you will do). And ofcourse The Truth is better than VC. He's a beast. Hardworker, good scorer & all-around player and has passion for the game. Great leader.

Grant Hill + filler for Paul Pierce + filler? Seems like a lost cause though. Meh, he would be PERFECT for us imo.
<div class="quote_poster">The One & Only Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> Meh, he would be PERFECT for us imo.</div> Yes, he would. I'm trying to think of people I would want more than him and I am having difficulty coming up with anyone.
Are you guys crazy?? The Magic couldn't get Pierce in a million years. We would have to trade a lot of quality players for him. Since he wants to win, why would he just go to a mediocre .500 ball club like us?? Couldn't he go to a better team?? The Magic are going to trade Grant Hill and Boston isn't going to trade Pierce especially for Grant Hill who's old and injury-proned. He's a great player to have but it just wouldn't happen.
I would love Pierce on this team but I doubt Boston gives him up. And CLos, I think Paul would love to come to Orlando. Right now he's on the worst team in the league. If he were to come to the Magic, he'd be teamed up with Dwight Howard and we would immediately become a top team in the East. We are mediocre right now but with the addition of Pierce, we'd be a contender this season. Also, we have a lot of youth so not only would we contend this year but for many years to come.

<div class="quote_poster">Carter Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Wouldn't Pierce ruin Dwight Howard's development?</div> Nope. The way I look at it, if we got Pierce, he would probably start at shooting guard and Trevor Ariza would start at small forward. Dwight would probably ending up getting MORE shots since Grant Hill would no longer be on the team and Hedo Turkoglu would be coming off of the bench. The amount of shots Pierce and Ariza would take would most likely be less than the amount of shots Hill and Turkoglu take. Pierce is a slasher and he is a smart player. He doesn't settle for jumpshots like Vince does and he has a good attitude. He wants to win and that's another reason I think he would take a lesser role on this team.
The Magic don't have any picks in this draft, so a Grant Hill trade for Pierce is looking less attractive.
Grant Hill is a very smart player as well. Yeah, you're right though that Ariza and Pierce combined won't jack up as much shots as Turkoglu and Hill. Turkoglu has been on a slump not including the game against Portland. He is shooting way too much. Pierce and Dwight would make for a good duo, but don't think about any championships coming here. Teams are still too solid for the Magic to beat them.
The more I think about it, the more I want Paul on this team. The "We Want Pierce!" campaign has been formed!
<div class="quote_poster">Swish Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">The more I think about it, the more I want Paul on this team. He was pretty much the #1 guy we wanted as a whole in FA(Josh Howard a very close 2nd), but both signed extensions.
Oh I definitely wanted him over the offseason. It was Pierce, Howard, and the whole class of 2003 for me. Its just that after he signed the extension, I forgot about him and now I really want to trade for him. He's perfect for this team and I think we should at least try to make an offer.
