Who do y'all think would make the All NBA No-defense team? Here's mine..You gotta name full time starters in the list. PG: Steve Nash SG: Michael Redd SF: Carmelo Anthony PF: Dirk Nowitzki C: Eddy Curry
Melo isn't the worst defensive SF in the league. He's actually improved quite a bit from his rookie year. I also don't think Redd is the worst defensive SG.
That's a pretty spot-on assesment, except for the SF spot, as Bobcats said. I'd put Adam Morrison there at the moment. Per playing time, the only worse defender that I can think of would be Curry.

Melo is averaging less than half a block and less than 4 def rebounds per game this season. He should be doing better than that.
Dirk's defense has improved a lot over the years. In fact, he is a pretty decent defender now (not great, average), but can't seem to shed the "plays no defense" title.

And seeing how this is time-based, and not just based on every player in the league, I'd say Dirk's only competition for the four-spot should be Pau "the Matador" Gasol, if you don't consider him a center.

Adam Morrison is by far the worst defender at SF, end of story.

<div class="quote_poster">dallasdude Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Cut the rookie some slack. 4 years from now, he might be a better defender than Melo.</div> Morrison's defense is just atrocious though. And their the same age anyway - they're both 22 years old. Melo just left college earlier.
<div class="quote_poster">dallasdude Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Cut the rookie some slack. 4 years from now, he might be a better defender than Melo.</div> Well first of all, he was almost as bad a defender in college as he is now. Second, as VC said, they are the same age. And third, Morrison has nowhere close to the athletic ability that Melo has to become a good defender. He'll be an average defender at best.
OK Bobcats, we realize AMMO is an awful defender at the sf position, but I think the point of the thread was to discuss starters/stars in the league at each position (Morrison has started some games, but he is not a starter in this league). Here's my list: pg- Bibby sg- Redd sf- Lebron pf- Zach Randolph c- Curry
I like the Webber pick, Durvasa, but I have to disagree with the Caron Butler one. He's actually a decent defender and has done a good job containing Lebron this year in their meetings. I think he's actually a pretty good defender.
<div class="quote_poster">durvasa Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">PG - Mike Bibby SG - Mike Miller SF - Caron Butler PF - Chris Webber C - Eddy Curry</div> Caron Butler? You probably have some stats to prove me wrong, but Butler is #3 in steals per game this season(2.1) and I think he's a pretty solid defender. He's probably the best defender on the Wizards team.
I couldn't really think of anyone at SF, so I picked someone from a terrible defensive team. Perhaps that was unfair to Butler.
I just have to comment on the hilarity of Curry being on so many lists. It's too bad that guys with his type of ability just don't care enough to play defense.
