I'm going to make excuses for the warriors troubles...but, it seems as though the warriors dont get enough respect around the league as far as foul calls go. I wouldnt expect this on the road, but I wouldn't expect it to be like this at home either. Case in point, there were some questionable fouls called last night...harrington on the joe johnson drive, ellis on josh smith when he was undercut by his own guy. And when it comes to the warriors, jacksons drive at the end of the second quarter, speedy clearing out ellis to set up a joe johnson three, biedrins getting loose ball fouls for rebounding.... It seemed as though this game was played in ATL. I know that this game is supposed to be unbiased in the officiating, and there are "no conspiricies" in the game and i also know that the warriors just blow and that is why i'm resorting to other facets within a game in which we get screwed... its frustrating to watch these guys, but i force myself to do it everytime there on tv....and i dont know why.
Warriors lose because they did not play well enough to win. That's the basic point. Superstars get some calls but not enough to win the game. In the Bulls game Sat.; one ref was horrible. Josh Powell got hammered and there was no call. But I never thought that if the Warriors lost it would be because of calls; it would have been because they played awful in the 3rd quarter.
Part of the problem why Harrington gets swatted like 7 times per game is that he is weak for his position. He seems to have small hands and no explosion in his body. When you try little patti-cake moves and fade-aways instead of going up strong, you don't get the call. Further, if GS had a legit PF to push his weight around, (even PJ Brown from the Bulls would do) the other guys would suddenly find it much easier to get to the goal.
I never blame officiating because it's never perfect. It's a weak excuse and fans always seem to blame the refs for missed calls. I was listening to the Atlanta feed last night and they kept complaining about how the W's were getting all the calls. They complained about the FT difference and the numerous offensive fouls called on their team. On a side the note the Atlanta commentators are horrible and way too bias. The voice of the color guy made me want to punch him the face so he would shut up.

And despite what Nelsons said about Ike, I think Ike is a smart player just like Sean May. Nelson just wants his power forwards to be more like wing forwards who can isolate players and spread the floor like a guard. I don't like that because there are few players with those abilities in the league that are nay good to set the tone inside if you don't have a stronger center than Biedrins or a stronger center type depth. The problem is Harrington is not a power forward, but only looks like one. Just like how Troy Murphy was not a center, but looked like one. And when he tried to play power forward, he was still beaten badly on the defensive end when teams try to isolate him. They force our defensive movement to cover for him (in the zone) and that causes a gap to open up elsewhere for a drive to the lane, a cut to the hoop, or a wide open three. I'm not sure how Harrington would work as a small forward either because he's not fast for that position. His athleticism and strength is vastly overrated IMO and I think he's one of the reasons why Atlanta didn't look very impressive and why Indiana didn't look impressive. He really affects the chemistry when he tries to take a lot of shots and they don't hit. He really affects the chemistry when he doesn't play the D. He really affects the chemistry when he doesn't rebound or move the ball without turning it over. That's why I just don't like that guy. I'll take a tall shooting guard 6'8 that shoots 40%, likes to fire away threes, and turns the ball over at a 1.5: 1.0 assist to turnover ratio like Harrington does, so long as its a guy that can cover that position well. I think Sjax can, but I don't expect much out of that position if we've got other wingmen to choose from. But Harrington has to play power forward and so I demand a lot more from him. But I guess it's not his fault because he's very limited for that position and we have nobody else. But if we had a power forward, would this guy make a good starting small forward? That I'm not sure of. So I hope some team will just take him from our hands (for something good-to-decent on both ends of the floor, of course, with higher basketball I.Q. and floor awareness).
I would rather have Caron Butler than Harrington. He has always been a favorite of mine. If Harrington is traded how do you think Baron would react? So much is made of their friendship and them wanting to play together. Would Baron destroy the team?
