<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Marvin Williams takes offense when accused of holding back on the court this season. But when he showed off hook shots with both hands in Sunday's win over Golden State, his teammates began to wonder: What else has he been hiding?

"It's like my dad always says, just because you don't do something doesn't mean you can't do it," Williams said with a chuckle.

"I had a 6-2 guy on me; what else was I supposed to do but post him up?" Williams said he is still trying to get fully comfortable after missing the first 17 games of the season with a broken finger.

"I'm hoping to really hit my stride here in the next couple of weeks," he said.

"My legs are starting to get there. Once that happens, I really hope to see a boost in what I can do out there."</div>

It's a shame a lot of people are giving up on him and calling him a bust, because I still think he's going to be a 20/7 player in the next couple of years.

He's was a #2 pick. Most #2 picks end up being a bust than stars.

I don't agree with that. You can't assume someone is a bust because of their number in the draft. [IMG]

    number 2 picks :

    Bill Russel '56
    Jerry West '60
    Rod Thorn '63
    Earl Monroe '67
    Wes Unseld '68
    Rudy T '70
    Bob Macadoo '72
    Rik Smits
    Isiah Thomas '81
    Payton
    Alonzo Mourning
    JKidd
    Camby

You're thinking too much of the last 5 years, and you can't label someone a bust until they retire or leave the league

I don't know man..I saw this on Sports center a few years back, ever since that Sam Bowie pick and Len Bias death, there's some kind of curse associated with #2 picks and it's getting worse in recent years.

Here's the list of #2 draft picks since 1991. You'd expect your pick to end up being your franchise star at some point. Other than Jason Kidd and maybe Mourning, the rest of them just don't deserve to be the #2 pick.

    2006 LaMarcus Aldridge
    2005 Marvin Williams
    2004 Emeka Okafor
    2003 Darko Milicic
    2002 Jay Williams
    2001 Tyson Chandler
    2000 Stromile Swift
    1999 Steve Francis
    1998 Mike Bibby
    1997 Keith Van Horn
    1996 Marcus Camby
    1995 Antonio McDyess
    1994 Jason Kidd
    1993 Shawn Bradley
    1992 Alonzo Mourning
    1991 Kenny Anderson

Anyway, Marvin Williams is a guaranteed bust.

Mike Bibby's a good player, and Steve Francis was once considered one of the top players in the league

Jay Williams would have been a star, but because of the horrific accident, he didn't get his chance to shine. Nothing to do with the skill level, because he was a deserving number 2 pick. Camby - good career, Bibby - good career, Okafor - good career thus far, Steve Francis - all star, and the latest still have time to prove themselves, Aldridge, Williams and even Milicic to an extent. Give them a chance before you label them busts!!!

Yeah I'd had to agree thats really moronic. McDyess before his knee injury was most defently worthy of a #2 pick. Camby, Bibby, Okafor? Just because these players haven't come out like LBJ or Melo doesn't mean they weren't worth the pick.

Marvin is a 2nd year player I beleive? Jesus man give him some time.
