I think this would be a REALLY good trade for all teams.

Memphis Trying to rebuild, and would have all the assets to do so (players, money, and draft picks). They would basically dump all of their older players with heavier contracts on the Nets.
They would save $16.2 million in salaries. Giving them about $25 million (after signing their draft picks) in the offseason to play with. Bonus: Bulls 2nd rounder, and Nets 1st/2nd rounder.

They would have 3-4 picks and $25 million to get a legit PG and Center. Perhaps Chauncey Billups - VC/Rashard Lewis (making someone expendable). If they got landed Oden they would be very scary.

Warrick
Odom/Johnson
Gay/Roberts
Dahntay/Miller/Kinsey
Williams/Lowry/Harrington

Think small ball, but moreso athletic and fast. They would probably have the most balanced scoring in the league.

A possible line up of
C- Oden
PF-Odom
SF-Gay
SG-Carter
PG-Billups

would be one badass team, but I don't know if Memphis would want Carter. They would be a salary cap team, with a deep bench consisting of Miller, Warrick, and Roberts.

---
Bulls Trying to win now.

Wallace/Moore
Gasol/Allen/Sweetney
Nocioni/Thomas/Viktor
Gordon/Thabo/Griffin
Hinrich/Duhon

----
New Jersey Trying to make the playoffs

They get to save $8mil from Brown's expiring contract.

Collins/Boone
Stromile/Brown/Robinson
Deng/Nachbar/Cardinal
Carter/Bernard/Wright
Damon/Adams

When Jefferson and Nenad Kristic come back the Nets could acctually be able to make a trade that means something [IMG]

---
Lakers

Odom for Kidd

Bynum/Kwame
Cook/Turiaf
Walton/Radman
Kobe/Evans/Sasha
Kidd/Parker/Farmar

Edit: Memphis would like to burn Stro and Cardinal's contracts, but I'm not sure about Damon. I guess it comes down to NJN 1st round pick for Damon Jones. Either way, Memphis could keep D-Jones, if NJN said no b/c they wanted a PG, I guess Chicago could throw Duhon at them just so they could get Gasol.

C- Oden/Warrick
PF-Odom/Lawrence Roberts
SF-Lewis/Alexander Johnson
SG-Miller/Dahntay Jones/Kinesy
PG-Billups/Williams/Lowry/Harrington

They would still have 2-3 picks left (depending on NJ) to sure up that C spot, and still be a salary cap team. Their potential if they did this trade is so great.

MEMPHIS IS THE TEAM TO MAKE THIS TRADE HAPPEN, BULLS/NETS/LAKERS ALREADY ANNOUNCED THEY WANTED THOSE PLAYERS!

I had mess around with these trades to conclude to this one.

^I guess the Nets would keep Williams, because Memphis already has too many young PGs and wouldn't need him if they acquired say Billups, but their draft pick (at least the 2nd rounder) would be sent to Memphis.

Jefferson is injured and going to be out for a while, and Kidd/Carter are not enough to win games right now and get the Nets to the playoffs. At least through this trade they get to save 8 mil next season, Get A YOUNG STAR athlete, a PG who can run their system (who would most likely thrive in a change of setting), 2 bigs that can help hold off their problem at the C/PF position, and an okay shooter.

I think you're underestimating what Staudamire can still do, he plays for the Grizz now who are in tank mode trying to get get Oden. They have shown interest in Stromile Swift more then once, and Cardinal is probably the only contract they wouldn't want, but even he's not that bad. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/brian_cardinal/index.html his per minute production is pretty good acctually (look @ game log).

Like I said later in the post Chicago could also send Duhon to the Nets, and the Nets would decide if they wanted Damon, if not then Memphis could keep him around, or send him packing to Chicago.

So it would be
2nd rounder
J-Kidd
2 small expiring contracts in Moore, and House.

for

Luol Deng
Chris Duhon
Stromile Swift
Cardinal
P.J. Brown (expiring contract that could stilll help the Nets)

and the Bulls would choose if they wanted Staudemire or not, which I'm sure they would, because they could use a vet around those rookies, who has playoff experience.

I don't get why you wouldn't take Deng. Your argument is that the Nets already have Jefferson, but he might not even come back at half of what he use to be. If he does, then something called depth is great to have. Carter, Deng, and RJ could eat up all the minutes at SG/SF with RJ playing a few minutes at the 4 depending on the match up. You could always make a trade between the two and get a big.

Collins/Boone
Stromile/Brown/Robinson
Deng/Nachbar/Cardinal
Carter/Bernard/Wright
Duhon/Williams/Adams

When RJ and Kristic come back, they could choose to trade, or have depth.

This deal works.

The Nets are getting screwed in all the trades. If the Nets do get rid of Kidd and are in a rebuilding mode, why do they need to take on more salary?

Here's my trade scenario. This trade benefits all 4 teams. I know the Nets aren't getting enough in return for Kidd(skill wise), but they end up saving about 70 mill in total salary. [IMG]

That trade still isn't good for the Nets, even if it saves salary, and the Lakers are basicaly trading Odom and trash for Collins (Mihm replacement), one of the best PG's ever and an up and coming young forward. How is that fair?

Why would the Nets trade a good PG and a solid defensive PF/C for a garbage PG Sasha, an old ass PF in Brown, and an oft-injured big man in Mihm.

I thought the Nets were trying to make the playoffs? They are 25-29 in the leastern conference.

Kidd is 34 and is past his prime. Do the Nets really want to pay him $40 million over the next two seasons? Deng is young, and has 9 years of greatness ahead of him.

The Nets have shown interest in Stromile Swift on more than one occasion. Brian Cardinal is the only bad salary they would have to take back, and he is an okay per minute guy to have around. They would save $8 million by doing this trade, and EVEN GET A STARTING QUALITY PG in the whole process, HOW DO THEY NOT LIKE THIS TRADE?

Stro, and Duhon only have 2 years left on their contracts (1 for Stromile if he doesn't pick up the player option, but you never know[IMG]), and Cardinal has 3. The Nets are desperate for help in the frontcourt and P.J. Brown and Stro will help them in the leastern conference.

Hence, all teams benefit from this trade.

I'm positive the Bulls would do Deng/Duhon for Gasol. Gordon/Deng is unreasonable.

You have to give up talent to get talent in return.

I doubt the Bulls do a trade in which Deng ends up with another eastern conference team. If he went to Memphis straight up I could see it happening, but to trade him to New Jersey would make no sense imo.

I was going to say conference doesn't matter as much as you're saying it does, but I thought about it again and maybe you're right.

I mean, it is the East.

Still Gasol would put them over the top.

Wallace/Moore
Gasol/Allen/Sweetney
Nocioni/Thomas/Viktor
Gordon/Thabo/Griffin
Hinrich/Jones

They would make it to the finals imo.

Would never happen on the Bulls end. I don't think you guys understand how Pax works. Plus the Bulls are getting screwed considering Deng is one of the most wanted players in the NBA right now. Deng is now enough to grab a big name player, but it can't happen because of the contract issues. Next season though, Deng will likely be on a huge contract.

It's funny how fans from each team say their team wont do the trade because it's unfair.

The Nets are the suckers in this trade imo. Like someone else said, those are some bad contracts. Yet the Bulls fans think Deng>Gasol. I just wanted to see J-Kidd and Kobe toghether, that would have been badass.

I still can't believe MEM offered MIA their 1st pick and Stro for who was it Posey? and MIA rejected the offer.

Deng is more valuable to Pax then Gasol.

Simple fact, Pax won't deal Hinrich, Gordon, Deng or Nocioni.

I thought they offered Deng and Brown for Gasol and Memphis said no. They wanted both Deng and Gordon for Gasol.
