    New York Daily News -
Isiah Thomas keeps saying that the Knicks are unlikely to be players ahead of the trade deadline, but rumors are surfacing that they are showing interest in Drew Gooden, Ruben Patterson and Ron Artest.

"Where we started from, you needed to keep building a team. But where we are now, I think the building now comes from within," Thomas said. "I don't see us making a lot of moves.

    "I don't expect a whole lot of movement. I really don't

K Artest is a good player....but getting Gooden or Petterson would solve something?[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
They would want Frey for sure....[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] Another stupid move by Isiah if we do get Gooden.[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    I don't understand this either.

We tried to get him two years ago for Kurt Thomas.

David Lee is our Drew Gooden, so what purpose would he serve?

Could Isiah have a deal wtih Sacramento for Artest, which we give up David Lee and Gooden will replace him? Just a thought.

I would love to see Artes in NYK uniform, but the chances of that happening are slim.Gooden is a good rebouned thats it. Sac have like 4 PF like him on their roster.

I would give up David Lee in a heartbeat if it meant getting Ron Artest to New York. Artest would bring the defense we sorely need and he's still young, and if we somehow picked up Drew Gooden too we wouldn't miss Lee as much.

I would hate to see Lee leave New York though.

Wahts wrong with giving Frye for Gooden? Frye is a poor man's Gooden and he's always injured. Gooden would be an upgrade IMO.

wow......you would give up one of the most hard-working, most promising, character, great bball IQ's in the league for a PROVEN CANCER??? I wouldn't touch Artest with a 20-ft pole if I was a GM.
