lol, if that was an attempt at a "comeback" or a diss or any sort of redemption from whatever we said in the other thread (and that's how I'm taking it unless you tell me otherwise), you're only making yourself look foolish. You won your first game after losing 18 previous ones, and you come in here with "take that"? Wow, I applaud you, you really made us look bad there, even though we're fourth place in the East with a 29-24 record And I won't even respond to "Milwaukee's in Canada right?". Good luck on the rest of your season, hopefully your team will manage to win more then 1 or 2 games for the remainder of your schedule.

It was me, in fact, realizing that I should take Chutney's advice and not take it too seriously. It's self-depracating humor, sometimes argued as humility, sometimes not. I was just happy the losing streak was over so the players and us fans wouldn't suicide. As for "coming in here with 'take that" THIS IS THE CELTICS BOARD. If there was any better place to talk about the Celtics, I'll let you know. You don't need to tell me, because you're a Raptors fan, who posts on the Raptors board. Coming to the board with some useful commentary regarding the celtics or some other team that both play would be appreciated, but trash talking comes to little good end. As for the small satire lesson: when people make unnecessarily unequivocal statements in print "take that Raps fans" followed by directly ridiculous ones, "Milwaukee's in Canada, Right" the second statement can generally be interpreted as a cue to recognize the ridiculousness of the first. I suggest a brisk reading of Mark Twain, or even watching the Daily Show. The second statement was doing double duty: it was mocking the jingoistic ignorance that stereotypes the American sports fan. In fact, I was intimating that it would have been better that the Celtics beat a team from Canada, because Canada is a foreign nation, outside our control, and therefore must be conquered in even the most minor ways (i.e. basketball). You had the smarts to not take the second statement seriously, if only they had extended to the first. Comedic analysis is generally tough and outside the range of the basketball mind, but it is a service that I am humbly offering. Regarding the Raptors: I am legitimately happy for prudent Raptors fans and am doing my best not to stereotype them. It would seem that many have been there for the whole painful duration. As a Celtics fan since only the early 90's, I can understand a little bit of pain. With any success, no matter how mild (cough 29-24) there will be some leaping onto the bandwagon. Hopefully you are not enjoying the shameless bandwagoneers that the Red Sox have recently acquired (until July.) Congrats and I wish you luck deep into the second round of the playoffs. Do not bait me and I will return to my beloved and inept Celtics.

Sure, some of us were a little too confident (I personally didn't say anything this year), but we still haven't been wrong as much as you guys have in the past few years. I could be wrong, but I don't ever remember seeing Celtics fans rubbing it in like you guys have.
