This thread(and some of the responses) makes me sad. What is there to dislike about gay people? Does anyone even know that throughout history being bisexual was of the norm? Spartans, Roman, Greek, etc. Geez, this whole "OMG GAY PEEPLE!!!!!" is getting really ridiculous. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting "AirJordan":</div><div class="quote_post">i have come to the conclusion that they aren't human</div> I have come to the conclusion that you're ignorant.
I don't hate gay people, I've known gay people, it doesnt really matter, I don't treat them any differently. I don't particularly like ignorant people like Tim Hardaway. Most gay people aren't looking to make advances on other men. Also most men who do things to other men against their will are not actually gay.
<div class="quote_poster">The One & Only Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> What is there to dislike about gay people? </div> Well I am grossed out by their actions, but by all means they are entitled to whatever law abiding life they desire. I am also aware that the Spartans and such were gay (still don't approve of it just because tough/smart guys were gay), I don't care really.
<div class="quote_poster">The One & Only Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> What is there to dislike about gay people? </div> It is a major sin against my religion and it's just not right with a man and a man. I'm sure Pakman feels the same.
No offense y'all but there are so many sins out there people seem to conveniently pass. They key on homosexuality, because it's "abnormal" or "grosses them out."

*dream starts chant...."TIM-MY,TIM-MY,TIM-MY!!!"...then leaves thread laughing maliciously..."HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!"* "hello my name is Tim Hardaway....not only do I kill crossovers....I kill homos also"
<div class="quote_poster">AKIRA Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">what has religion ever done for the world? nothing good really, just wars and rascists,</div>Well considering that most of the world has had some form of religion during its entire existence whether pagan, Roman gods, Egyptian, Greek, Celtic, Hindu, Shinto, Buddhist, Christian, Jewish. So if the Sikhs who built kitchens that would feed the general public, I would consider that a good thing. The Christian programs like Salvation Army, etc, that run soup kitchens, etc. The Buddhist religion teaches compassion, and to give up your possessions. Islam teaches that muslims should give to the poor, widows and needy. As well there is a tax I believe (dukat?) that will be given to the poor, and needy. I may not agree with the religions, but I would not say that all religions have only brought negative consequences, and their teachings only teach negative things. (ie. wars and racism) Also in non-religious countries (Stalin's Russia, China's Emperor Mao (ran the cultural revolution to get rid of religions)), are no utopias. <div class="quote_poster">AKIRA Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> so if some of you are believing that gays are unnatural, and a sin, because your king james edition bible (mentioned for the fact that the english changed the bible so as it conforms to their standeds) says so, you are in turn choosing the same logic as hitler did, thus becoming a rascist, facist, lying, cheating, homophobe who is going to hell, just because you followed your bible.</div> I'm not a Christian at the moment, but I may become a true one some day. From what I understand from the bible, a Christian should not engage in homosexual intercourse, should not look at a woman with lust, should not have sex outside marriage, should not have sex with animals, marriage consists of one man and one woman (not polygamy). From my understanding they (Christians) are not to condemn non-Christians for their actions, and although they may hate the sin, they are to love everyone. ie. Jesus would eat with the people that most people (in general society) would avoid like the prostitutes, the drunks, and the tax-collectors. <div class="quote_poster">Chutney Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">No offense y'all but there are so many sins out there people seem to conveniently pass. They key on homosexuality, because it's "abnormal" or "grosses them out."</div>I agree with that. For some reason homosexuality gets far more talk than adultery, sex outside marriage, lusting after a woman, which are all in the exact same boat. (in Christian perspective)
<div class="quote_poster">huevonkiller Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Religion is not the reason I disagree with homosexuality. Like I said before (or maybe I didn't, can't remember), there's nothing wrong with disagreeing with homosexuality, not thinking it's right, etc. But that doesn't mean you throw away basic civility and treat them as anything other than human.
<div class="quote_poster">custodianrules2 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Being gay isn't exactly normal, but it's being understood that's it is not by choice. We know this because there's greater awareness of that group and more people are talking about their experiences and they're writing books about it and they're saying it's not by choice. And because so much of religious doctrine surrounds the creation of family by union of man and wife (not man and man or woman and woman). That's pretty sacred and anything different would violate that sacredness. Every society knows that in order to create a family (the future of mankind), a husband has to get his wife pregnant. And in order to raise a healthy family it needs both a mom and dad (ideally). But you know, that's just religion. There's new ways of thinking now and many choices available that people back then didn't have or didn't consider. Like what happens if a Lesbian couple adopts a baby and raises him/her in a loving family? What happens to the question of whether a mom and dad should break their relationship bond with their daughter or son because he/she is gay? Religious groups were never confronted with those issues and if they were, they were quick to label it as a sin because they couldn't understand anything beyond what they interpreted as righteous. They may even make decisions they might regret or theoretically violate something they aren't supposed to do like give up on their own child because of homosexuality. Life doesn't happen the way we intend and there's things that happen all the time that go outside what we believe is the ideal way to live by. It's selfish to think one way fits them all. I'm not gay, by the way, but I'm trying to be tolerant or else irony is going to bite me in the ass one of these days and I'll have a future son doing some home decor show on the discovery channel. Anyway homosexuality is a genetic thing that has to be understood and accepted if we ever plan to move forward in this society. It even happens to animals instead of humans, so it's not like some people have a choice in this matter (except for people who do it to get paid). You know what I'm talking about. Jenna Jameson, cough cough.</div> I never thought of it that way. Good post, well thought out, I couldn't agree more.
I don't have a problem with gay people, but when a famous and a well known player like Tim Hardaway comes out and says something like that it just creates more tension. If you have a problem with homos, then keep it to yourself. I dont care about this topic that much, but this will ruin Hardaway's reputation in front of everyone.
Well I don't hate gay people but I strongly disagree with their lifestyle. I have a gay relative and I still love them but that doesn't mean I agree with his lifestyle. I don't agree with Hardaway using the word hate, he should've been smart and just said no comment or something. As for the notion that some members should be banned over their comments, are you joking? It's a free country and they have a right to voice their opinion. While you may not agree with them, it is still their opinion. I don't know if I'd give Timmy "big ups" or anything but he was just stating his opnion and I'm sure he isn't the only professional athlete who feels the same way.

Think there are some people that wanna make themselves look better so they put down gay people, like "I'd may have done some things wrong, but I'm not gay" that's dumb and hypocritical
what tim said was wrong and it will be held against him for a long time..gay people are just people, they are the same as everybody..just bc their sexual prefence is different, does that give sumone the right to bad mouth them?
<div class="quote_poster">Shaq Diesel Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">just bc their sexual prefence is different, does that give sumone the right to bad mouth them?</div> yes.........yes it does....
<div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">yes.........yes it does....</div> Way to contribute to the idiot part of this discussion. Making fun of someone based on their sexual preference is very cowardly. It takes courage to say "I'm different...too bad." I bet you wouldn't have enough sack to say boo to most people, let alone go against the norm and admit to something thats true, but difficult to live with because of childlike ignorant minds like yours.
