<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">When Chris Bosh stepped to the free throw line early in last night's Raptors-Nets game he was promptly bathed in an M-V-P! chant. And Vince Carter, the ex-Raptors star, openly mocked the fans' refrain. Carter mouthed something that clearly amounted to an objection. He smiled and shook his head. "I don't think there's any hard feelings," said Bosh of Carter. "(The chant) probably comes as a surprise. It's been a while since he's been here and a lot of things have changed." Said Carter: "I was just giving (the fans) a hard time."</div> Source If you watch the video, you can see him saying "Oh, come on" when the crowd starts chanting MVP. Then he says, "MVP?" and he raises his eyebrow and starts laughing. Classy move Vince. Invalid Video Link
Eh, who cares about Carter. Me being a Raptors fan myself, don't believe Bosh deserves the MVP just because of our turnaround this season, but Carter was a bit childish with his reaction. Also, one part of the game off a timeout Mo-Pete was trying to pump up the crowd by rasing his hands in the air, and Carter just looked at him and started laughing. I don't know what's with him, but the next posession Mo-pete just blew past Carter for a lay-in.

I'm not a fan of Carter or anything, but he was keeping it real, Bosh isn't in the discussion. I've observed his numbers on 82games/knickerblogger and he is not in the top 5/10 of this race. Fans are making that MVP chant worthless.
I don't really have a problem with it, partially because obsessive Raptor fans start chanting it in the first quarter at a random time when Bosh is at the FT line. Yeah...this stuff usually happens in the fourth or atleast the second half.
In a sports world where you have players usin hockey sticks as assault weapons & beefin up on steroids, I'm not sure why this even garners any attention

He sure is Toronto's MVP. And it's obviously very good to hear him that chant in New Jersey, but I didn't like Carter's reaction at all. I just don't like this kind of stuff, well, I don't like Carter's swagger at all. Bosh > Carter.

Like...I understand, it wasn't the smartest thing for VC to do, but in all honesty, it was nothing. This is just another reason for Raptor fans to have more hate towards Vince. Leo Rauntins going on his rant for like 5 staright minutes during the game was so annoying, I felt like coming over and punching him. We get the point. You rode his jock when he was here, now you're hating him (for justified reasons), but that huge tirade after showing the replay of VC was going way too far.
I don't see how anyone can be a fan of Vince Carter. That mocking of MoPete was just stupid/classless and showed no heart from him when his team was down in the 4th quarter he was still joking around... how can you like him.
Does it really matter? It's been 2 years since he left and Toronto is still bitching? C'mon, you guys have a new star in Bosh so stop crying over VC .

They always want to start up more drama between players, I mean look at Kobe vs Shaq.
Some people in Toronto are just getting carried away with some of the MVP chants. I don't blame them though because people are just having a little fun since it's been a long time since Raptor fans have had something to cheer about. It's just Vince being Vince again. It doesn't seem like he thinks before he does or says things sometimes. He's just giving Toronto fans another reason to hate him even more. I also suspect he is somewhat jealous about how Bosh is doing and how Toronto is doing. I'm sure to a small degree, it's a hit to his ego to see Toronto succeed without him. After the game, he refused to answer questions about the Raptors' improvement this season, which further proves this point. That's just my view of things. I've gotten over the whole Vince thing a long time ago and I wish some other people would do the same, including the Toronto media.

Bosh is having an amazing season but there's no MVP arguement at all. The Mopete thing should be the bigger story. I thought that was the most classless thing I'd ever seen. Mopete doesn't even look Carter in the eye anymore when they play, he's simply all business. The "slap" incident pretty much killed that one.
I usually just read stuff on here, but I thought I would post on this. I was an avid Raptors fan when Vince played for Toronto and was so disappointed when he was traded. It really bothers me that he gets so much crap from the fans when he comes back. Did they forget about all he did for the franchise and for the city of Toronto, not just on the court, but off as well? I get that sometimes he acts childish and he doesn't always make the best decisions, but I think him laughing at the end of the game is a way to make people think he doesn't care about being booed when clearly it does. He's obviously hurt by the reception he receives. I wish more people would remember the good that Carter brought to the organization rather than the bad. As for the MVP thing, it's not really that big of a deal. People have opinions and it's not fair that he gets ripped for being caught on camera when he said it. The commentators are clearly too sensitive about anything said or done against the Raptors.

Agree completely, but he did say he didn't give them a 100 percent every game which might of made the fans pissed.

Yeah, he dogged his last days in Toronto, but even when he sucked, I still remember him hitting game-winners and making important plays (i.e- game winner against Portland over Van Exel). It frustrated me to see him being benched and averaging 16 ppg or whatever he averaged at the time, but he was clearly frustrated with his situation in Toronto. Yes, what he did was wrong and unprofessional, but Toronto fans act like he got away with murder. It's one thing to hate him for a game or 2, but every single game? Even 2 years after he's been traded? And to show bitterness/hostility towards him everytime his name comes up? Get over it. That's just stupid IMO. I think the media is quick to forget athletes because good ones come and go but I'm surprised that the fans hate him so much. He single-handedly put Toronto on the map and generated entire fanbases for basketball in not only our city, but also our COUNTRY (I would know, because Carter was the reason I started to seriously follow basketball) and he dogged it in Toronto for what....3 months? But we don't remember the good things, no, it's always the ending that Toronto seems to remember. This even goes for Tracy Mcgrady. I still don't see why we booed Tracy ....even booing Vince Carter seems more reasonable then that. Didn't we also boo Antonio Davis as well? ****, why don't we just boo the entire 99-00 Raptors roster?
