If he is playing alongside Ariza/Bogans with Dwight on the floor I don't mind JJ being in the game, assuming we continue to give him shots. As long as he continues to shoot with confidence I don't mind him at all. When he hesitates is where I start having a problem. He's starting to grow on me a little bit, but in order for him to be as effective as possible, he needs a good defender playing right next to him in the other wing. I still don't think he will be any more than just a bench player during his rookie contract because more than likely Hedo will continue to start and starting Hedo/JJ/Jameer is an opposing wing/pg dream.

Jameer, Redick, Ariza, Darko, and Dwight is going to be deadly in three years.

<div class="quote_poster">Swish Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I'm actually becoming a huge J.J. Redick fan. I questioned the selection at first but now I love the pick. He's becoming a fan favorite here in Orlando (unless your name is Brett) and he has proven to me that he can play at this level. His game isn't as one dimensional as I thought and his defense is actually better than I expected. Redick spreads the floor and stats have shown that Dwight Howard plays better when J.J. is in the game.

Defenses respect him because of everything he did in college and whenever he gets the ball the Amway Arena just erupts. He definitely has the ability to shift the game's momentum when the ball is in his hands. At the Magic-Spurs game, Redick shot the ball and everyone stood up and then right when it dropped the whole stadium went nuts. Shortly after, he made another three and it started our run which eventually led to our comeback.

J.J. is the guy people love to hate but I'm starting to really like the guy. It's easy to like him when he's on your team and his confidence/cockiness doesn't bother me (in fact, I like his swagger). He is a winner and I see him becoming a very good player in the next couple of years as long as Brian Hill gives him a chance.</div>

YEAH!!!!! I found a buddy on the board! lol [IMG]

He has really worked hard and I think he deserves some time. After all, he is Redickulous

Doesn't really matter now, this is the NBA and he hasn't done much of anything. Most of the time I just feel like I want to punch him when reading his interviews.

Like I sadi before though, I love his game. I saw him do a turn around jumper and it was just nasty. Got the defender looking stupid.</div>

To be honest with you, I love his cockiness. The guy is confident about himself and at least he plays good. His swagger is good for a young team with a bunch of future bright players in the NBA. JJ will come up more and more with playing time and he will get more opportunities to shine.

Me too! I dont think hes cocky, I just think hes got an awesome swagger. The hate he got in college made him that way in my book. He had to overcome it somehow.

Do you guys still wish you took Brewer or Carney?

I know Gators probably still hates the pick but I'm actually happy with the Redick selection. Carney and Brewer are pretty similar to Trevor Ariza so I'm glad we got someone with different skills. Redick can knock down threes and he really stretches the defense which helps Dwight. Neither of those other would have done this since they aren't as good of shooters.

I would rather have either one of those guy because the both have more of an all around game than Redick.

Same. They can impact a game positively if they aren't getting looks or if the shots aren't falling.

Plus they are more athletic than Redick. They are also already better defenders.

Redick is only a 3 pt shooter. Carney can stretch the defense and is a good defender. Brewer as well. The pick is okay but I think the Magic GMs and Brian Hill should have looked at this pick a little more.
