<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Add Sarunas Marciulionis to the list of Don Nelson disciples dropping by Oracle Arena this season.

One of the league's first Europeans -- and the Warriors' original Lithuanian -- is in town for two weeks to visit his daughter, check out the All-Star scene in Las Vegas, and of course, catch up with his old Run TMC mates.

At Wednesday morning's shootaround, Marciulionis was throwing up jumpers alongside Warriors vice president Chris Mullin. And afterward, Marciulionis offered his insight into why Golden State has had so much trouble recreating the up-tempo game that defined Nelson's first go-around.

"I don't know, that's a good question," Marciulionis said. "I don't want to use the word 'unselfishness,' but that team, passing, creating things, that was fun. Penetrate, shoot, it was fun to destroy the defense because in the fast break, it's always trying to finish in different ways.

"I don't know if these guys feel the same way," he continued. "It's part of the game to be unselfish. I remember I didn't know what stats were until (my) second year in the NBA. ... Destroy stats, then you have a basketball game."

Marciulionis said he is "trying to find time for myself" following an NBA career highlighted by two runner-up finishes for Sixth Man of the Year honors (1991 and '92) and ultimately cut short by injuries.

He founded the Lithuanian basketball league in 1993 and his youth academy is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. Marciulionis also owns a chain of hotels.

"I was too busy for a long time," he said. "I'm trying to find something to make me happy. I'm looking for that hobby.</div>

Sarunas Marciulionis was my favorite player on the Warriors back in the day. It's sad that injuries limited his playing days, but he ended up doing a lot of good for Lithunia in terms of basketball especially.
