I just want to see everyone's opinion about this Gator writers piece today. http://www.alligator.org/pt2/070215antonio.php
Quote:

Champs sit lonely atop college hoops By ANTONIO GONZALEZ Alligator Columnist Who are all those people saying there's too much parity in college basketball? There's no parity. There's UF and then there's everybody else. That's called domination. In one of their worst performances of the year Wednesday night, the No. 1 Gators prevailed against another ranked opponent, 76-67 against No. 25 Alabama, which has been as high as No. 4 this season. Not since the 1991-92 Duke Blue Devils has a team looked so much better than the rest of the nation. In fact, it's not even close. This year, the disparity in college basketball is easy to measure: 26 points. That's by how much the Gators pummeled the nation's second-ranked team -- Ohio State -- in December.
I don't necessarily agree with everything that he says, but I would say right now it's pretty much Florida/Wisconsin and everyone else. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of teams that are very good, but they would be on the 2nd tier, IMO. How would you rank the College Hoops world right now? This is how I'd rank it....(all in no particular order) Best of the Best Florida Wisconsin Very Good Teams that are still capable of winning the championship UNC Ohio State Texas A&M UCLA Kansas Pittsburgh Good teams that could make a "Gator-like" run in the tourney Georgetown Washington State Oregon Marquette West Virginia Oklahoma State Alabama Indiana Arizona USC Mid Majors that can last awhile Butler Memphis Air Force Southern Illinois Nevada
Well, the guy does make some points, but he seems to have a case of homeritis. The Gators are obviously one of the best teams we've seen in some time, but I wouldn't start talking about them in the same breath as the early 90s Duke teams just because they trounced a then (and still, really) overrated Ohio State team at home early in the season. The adage that the bigger they are, the harder they fall, comes to mind while reading this. I hope the writer realizes what a pedestal he's put the Gators on. And I don't think they deserve a bronze statue just yet, LOL.

I know for a fact though that Billy Donovan will not let it get to the players heads. It hasn't yet and the team is still very hungry.
