Of course Pippen won't be like classical Pippen. He'll just be there for presence and guidance for the most part.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Look at Michael Jordan for instance, his greatest seasons were within the Chicago Bulls, and he really wasn't effective on the Wizards. Can one say that Michael Jordan cannot provide good leadership because of his misfortunes outside of Chicago? No.</div> The thing that your forgetting is Jordan was ALWAYS the leader on whatever team he played for, he was the best player and a great leader for younger guys. To say that Pippen is as good of a veteran leader as Jordan is pretty skewed, considering Pippen spent the majority of his career, and the entirety of his successful career, being led by MJ.
Pippen was already a good player. MJ is a more bolded player than Pippen, we know this. Just because Jordan has led the Bulls and the Wizards, doesn't mean that Pippen cannot offer better advice than Jordan. MJ was the greatest player, but that doesn't mean that he is the best adviser though. Two different ballgames.
Given everything I've ever heard about both Jordan and Pippen, I wouldn't be surprised if Pippen at age 40 is a better leader than Jordan at age 40, simply because I suspect Pippen would be more apt to recognize he isn't what he used to be, while Jordan has too much hubris for such an acknowledgement.
I think he is trying to "RELIVE" his younger days.....The man is over 40...yeah know? Give it up...give it up please
I think Pippen would make a better leader then Jordan. Even when he was playing with the blazers he was not the same player he was with the bulls but his leadership really helped out the team and they almost advanced to the Finals. He wants to return and play for a championship contender but I doubt Mavericks, Phoenix or San Antonio have any use for him if anything he will just ruin the chemistry.
