This thread is to present your thoughts on what exactly the Bulls need to do better in order to survive a rather shaky season, and atleast pass the first round of the playoffs. In this thread you can speak about specific Bulls Players, or you can talk about the Bulls as a conglomerate. You never know, the Bulls may actually come and read this If Blur would put a Bulls template on here, that would be cool. Here it goes: . The Bulls really need to work on being less clumsy with the ball. For instance, I find it a disadvantage how the Bulls do extremely long and uncontrolled passing to each other. It is one of the main negative forces that cause them to lose a game because of the massive turnover rate.
You want a sticky for it you mean? <ul>The Bulls need to find some type of consistent force down low. Not necessarily a 20 point a game scorer, but at least someone who can get you 13-15 points down in the low post a night. If we do not get Gasol, I think we should consider playing Sweetney more. He has more offensive skills then any big man on our team imo. [/list]
"You want a sticky for it you mean?" Yeah, it should be stickied. I was speaking of a template with pictures of the players. good tip, btw.
well i will 1st say we obviously need to make a move b4 the deadline lol. Since i hear Paxson is staying smart and not going to trade our core 4 Pau Gasol might b out of the question. To me, there r only a few cheap guys we can possibly get without trading our core and that is SAR. Everyone says we should give up P.J. Brown for him n other forums but i think we shouldnt. Since P.J. Brown is our tallest player other then Marty(who doesnt play) Id say we should trade someone else and c if the Kings will trade him 4 Malik Allen, Mike Sweetney, and our 2 second rounders. They need more offense and these guys provide it and if they dont like them they are expirings. To me, Malik and P.J. r the same type players and i really dont like having 2 of the same type players on my team. P.J. imo has an advantage over Malik Allen. P.J. Brown plays better defense, rebounds more, is a better veteran, and is a good backup 4 Wallace and a good guy other then SAR (if we get him) and Thomas to help Wallace out since he is a help defender. This trade helps us a lot because Thomas can still learn more from Brown and get more minutes, and we keep the better veteran. Also maybe Khryapa can get some more minutes. Not 2 bad of a roster imo. -Hinrich/Duhon -Gordon/Sefolosha/Griffin -Deng/Nocioni/Khryapa -Abdur-Rahim/Thomas -Wallace/Brown and others Although Pau Gasol would be better we really dont need an all-star post-player for us to go all the way. a guy that could give us 12 points and is more reliable to go 2 n the post when our guys arent shooting well or our opponents go n to a zone on us.
Speaking on the topic of Tyrus Thomas learning from P.J. Brown, I'll give it that P.J. can give Tyrus a bit more B.Ball I.Q., but Tyrus really has a unique playing style that can potentially become great.

Right now he is just going out there night in and night out, trying to use his athletic ability to jump over people. However, this is the NBA not college, everyone is athletic and you aren't going to be able to jump over most of them as long as he is open to learning from veterans around him he will be a beast. As far as a tip goes after seeing todays game, I have to say execution and adjusting to the zone is another thing we need to work on. The Bulls were completely out of their element when the Pistons changed their defense.
What do the Bulls need to do? To stop themselves from losing big leads? Do you think its the youth coming through? Do you think its the style of play? Do you think its the lack of an inside presence? Me personally, I think its the youth coming through. You can see silly mistakes the Bulls make. For example, yesterday, Ben Gordon makes a silly steal attempt to pick up his third foul in the first half. Kirk Hinrich made some silly passes yesterday. What do you guys think?
The youth? No no. The problem is clear is day my friend. Offensive boards. We've all covered it before here that the Bulls often leave the free throw lane open for guys to come right in and take offensive boards. The Bulls average 10.2 points allowed on second chances. That is undoubtably huge. This is the biggest problem they face right now, they get too caught up in other situations and then when they realize they have left so much space open other teams act on that.
Yeah but that is the youth. When you blow 20 points leads on a regular basis that's young guys "taking it easy" out there because they think the game's in the bag. How about coaching as a problem. Some of Skiles' rotation's drive me nuts. He's giving guys up and down minutes. Can you expect Thabo to feel comfortable and get into a groove when he sometimes doesn't even play? Tyrus is extremely raw and whatever Skiles' does with him is fine with me but Thabo's older and more experienced. He needs to time on the floor. Hate to bring it up but anyone notice Tyson Chandler's numbers this year? He's second in the league in rebounds and averaging 8.4 pts and 12.40 rebs a game. When he left he told the media Skiles and him didn't get along. And of course he had health problems as well as foul trouble so I'm not saying Skiles ruinded him. I'm not saying Skiles is a bad coach but maybe there are some problems on the bench as well as on the floor. There's no one problem this team has but to generalize I would say age is the problem and maybe lack of chemistry with Ben Wallace still and that will come around. Here's some other problems in no particular order: Freethrows - We don't get to the line as much as we should at all. Playing time - This goes back to the terrible rotations we have. Ball Handling - Kirk gets blocked all the time when he tries to drive and Ben Gordon sometimes falls when he comes into the lane which is so embarassing for me to watch.
You've covered what I put up long ago, only .. Free Throws - Attack the basket more often. Playing Time - Too much depth kills morale. The youth isn't entirely to blame for the offensive rebounds allowed, P.J. is often caught sleeping under the basket. Then when the other guys like Kirk and Ben believe they have the situation covered the ball falls back to the free throw line and the other team gets to the ball before the guards can. That isn't the way it is going to work. They need to limit offensive rebounding, that has been the death of nearly every single game so far.
We just have too many long scoring droughts and let them back in the game because we can't score a basket. Also the fact we can't score on a zone when a team goes to it when they are down big.

I think BG is turning into that. We also lack a pure shooter, which could help against the zones.
Ben Gordon, Hinrich, and Deng are our main scorers. Our main scorers have to work on shooting consistency in the mid range. If we were more consistent, no one could touch us.

Ben Gordon is getting to be like that, but he just isn't right now.
In time BG could become that, sure. Maybe even Luol Deng. I'd say Hinrich aswell, but he is more of assister.
Kirk Hinrich needs to shake whatever bug he has caught this season, that has caused him to struggle when playing in the United Center. Although, he is not our best offensive player, nor our best defender, he is probably the biggest key to our success. When he plays well we win, the numbers speak for them self. We also need to stop playing down to the competition. We have lost to teams like the Bobcats, Grizzlies, and Knicks this season. Yet we beat the Heat three times out of four, the Mavericks, and the Pistons a couple times. That doesn't make any sense to me. How can we play so well against big name opponents, but play so poorly against really below average competition?

He brings more then just numbers to the court, although if he plays poorly on the offensive end we tend to struggle most games. However, he is one of our four best defenders along with Wallace, Nocioni and Griffin. I want to see his assist numbers go up because he's down right now on that and I expected at least 7 or 8 per game this season especially considering our offensive game.
Don't forget to mention he usually gets the bigger guys on the defensive end because Gordon is our other starting guard. He had to guard Rudy Gay yesterday who has a huge height advantage.
kirk scores he just does it quietly and nobody notices until the end of the game or that how i see it
^ Why do you say no one notices until the very end? Kirk Hinrich is one of the most hacked players on the court.
