<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Shaquille O'Neal will step aside for Dwight Howard after all in Sunday's All-Star Game. "He's played a lot more than me and he deserves it." However, Shaq will get into the game for a few minutes before giving way to Howard. East Coach Eddie Jordan said it will depend "on how much Shaq wants to play. We'll focus on him offensively the first few plays. We got some young guys then, Dwight Howard, Jermaine O'Neal and Chris Bosh who can play center." O'Neal was voted to start the game at center for the East team despite playing in only a handful of games this season.</div> Source I just gained a lot more respect for Shaq Daddy. Go Dwight!
Wow, I thought Shaq would say hell no. Really good for him to do such a nice thing for such a promising young player.
hes gonna do someting crazy for those few minutes he's in lol, anyone remember last years off the back board free throw dunk?

I'm even more excited about Sunday now! Cool sig Baller09, J.J. is sick and I hope you continue to post in this forum.
That is good, anyway if Shaq plays less minutes he expend more energy in short bursts, while Dwight has lots of stamina. Shaq: 20 minutes, Dwight 28? If there are 3 players playing @ C Shaq 16 min, Dwight 24, 3rd center 8 min.
I'm glad Shaq has passed the torch to Dwight so to speak. Shaq and everybody around the NBA has really noticed Dwight as a real All-Star and it's a class act for him to let Dwight really play since he deserves it way more than Shaq.
Am I the only one who thinks that Shaq should have gone further than this? What's a starting spot? It doesnt mean anything. If anything, the starters matter less than the reserves, because if you make it as a reserve, that means that educated basketball minds wanted you in the game, not just a bunch of dumbass voters. The right move for Shaq would have been to bow out of the game completely and let one of the far more deserving snubs have his spot, like Ben Gordon, or even Eddy Curry, who's having a better season that Shaq even when you just look at the games Shaq has played healthy.

Uh what exactly is there to celebrate? Shaq is still going to start, just because he's going to play a few minutes less shouldn't even be considered a noble thing. By no means should be that thought of as "stepping aside".
shaq is a sav for this. it was the right thing to do though dwight deserves it. now he can play a major role in all-star saturday and sunday.
