As many of you might have already known, Scottie Pippen is seriously considering a comeback to a <u>playoff contending team</u> and the wants to play <u>point guard</u>. Maybe Houston can somehow land Pippen to replace Rafer as a starting PG! I believe he is interested in Cavs, Miami, Lakers (Kobe is going to call him today), Dallas and San Antonio. No word about the Rockets yet. But I would love to see him back in a Rockets uniform. He's the verteran we need. I think Tmac should call him like he did Wells.
Is this a joke? He's a SF and he wants to play PG? Wow. Not only does he want that, but he wants to play for a contendor, and he wants to hand pick them? He should take whatever team is willing to sign him.
No Joke: http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...1,4206033.story? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"I'm thinking of trying to come back for the playoffs," Pippen said. "Something like the last two months of the season, somewhere I can come back and play limited minutes to start, play point forward for someone and build toward the playoffs. It's something I've been thinking about for the last three months." </div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Denver Nuggets coach George Karl this week talked about needing a point guard and some decision-making help. Maybe the Spurs? How about a reunion with Jackson?the Lakers have been desperate for a point guard. Back to Houston in a slower game with Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming? To Minnesota to help Kevin Garnett? </div>
Scottie Pippen is a great player, but personally i think he's a bum. He came to Houston before and he was a real bi*tch. Prolly the worst pick up in franchise history. Never would I make the same mistake twice, never!!
He doesn't want to play point guard, he wants to play point FORWARD. It's different, it's like the role Kevin Garnett plays for the Wolves sometimes. He doesn't want to bring the ball upcourt and call plays, he wants to be a playmaking forward type. I think Scottie can still contribute to a team in around 10-15 minutes per game, he still has it in him.
A point forward is just a forward to brings the ball up and plays the role of point guard, but it allows for the PG to roam around and be the recipient rather than the contributor. Antoine Walker has been known to play this position at times, as does Odom. Pippen has played this position for a long time alongside Jordan, and is no stranger to handling the rock. He is an effective passer, rebounder, defender and scorer. He can be a good veteran leader who can contribute some to a contender. Don't underestimate him.
