<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">NBA Commissioner David Stern reiterated to the Sentinel after his media session Saturday that Orlando would be guaranteed to play host to an all-star game once they build a new arena.

"Yes," Stern said. "Yes. That?s my answer."

Stern promised Orlando an all-star game in a video message that was presented to both city and county officials last September and didn?t back off that stance.

He seemed even more committed and added that he was "encouraged" with the latest news he?s heard in negotiations.

The Magic proposed a solution to the $100-million funding gap which would put Orange County tax-payers at further risk. The arena would be primarily funded using tourist-tax dollars.

Stern said the all-star weekend is becoming so large that cities like Orlando are ideal "with its tourism, number of hotels and --- of course --- some sunshine they can give us."

Stern, however, stopped short of saying the league was preparing to go to a Super Bowl-like rotation, holding the game in warm-weather sites that can accommodate 30,000 fans.</div>

Awesome, I'd definitely try to get tickets to either the Saturday events or the actual game. You know Dwight would try to do something sick for the hometown fans in either the dunk contest (if he still wants to compete after being ROBBED) or in the actual All-Star game.

I was like wtf? when I came into this thread but the new arena made it make sense.

I wish TO didn't pull out a few years ago for running for the 2008 ASG, that would of been next year. Sigh.

Is it gonna be next year? That'd be awesome, I'd definitely try to get tickets. Dwight wouldn't be able to participate in the dunk contest though, would he? I thought you're not allowed to participate after your third year.

Do they sell the ASG, the Friday night, and the Saturday night for 3 different tickets?

If it is in Orlando, I'm going. That's all there is to it.
