<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Cheerless to say, yet indisputably reasonable, in all likelihood, we've seen the last of Jason Kidd in a Nets uniform. On the other hand, I suspect he hasn't lost his ability to grace an occasional New York City tabloid front page. Within the last week the Warriors, I'm informed, have communicated interest in the Oakland-native and certainly flaunt more than enough assets to outbid the Lakers for his services. I do not know the principles involved, or even if an actual offer was made. Would the Nets accept, say, Jason Richardson (four years and $55M left after this one), Adonal Foyle (two years and $19M) and rising-free-agent Michael Pietrus? If Jason Collins (two years and $12.3M) were included in the deal, most certainly! Even should Golden State refuse, I'd do it because it would terminate the guesswork regarding Vince Carter's contract intentions at season's end. Of course, should Carter verbally commit to the Nets before Thursday's trade deadline - and it's established he isn't using Carlos Boozer's agent or wife as consultants - that abruptly ends any notion of dealing Kidd to the Warriors. The Nets' insistence that Collins accompany Kidd to LA is an obstruction in that trade negotiation, but not intractable, I'm guessing. If a better offer than expiring contracts, draft picks, cash and Kwame Brown or Brian Cook doesn't materialize within the next four days, I'm inclined to believe Kidd will return to the Triangle Offense from whence he began as a rebellious rookie in Dallas under Jim Cleamons, off and on assistant to Phil Jackson for the last 15 years or so.</div> Source
Lakers aren't going to offer Andrew Bynum. Jerry Buss has already said Bynum is untouchable. Also, the Warriors trade is BS IMO. They already have Baron Davis, a maxed out superstar, and Monta Ellis, a young rising star in the league, so why in the world would they want to bring in Jason Kidd? That's 3 star point guards on one team. Doesn't make any sense to me

I don't want to get a bunch of crap players, expiring contracts, and late first round picks for Kidd. The Warriors trade would more sense if they offer Baron Davis.

I don't think either team gets him. If either do, it will probably be Golden State, they have more to offer.
<div class="quote_poster">Karma Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">So if the Lakers aren't offering Bynum or Odom, who are they offerring?</div> Kwame Brown, Smush Parker, Chris Mihm, and a bunch of late first round draft picks.
Nets fans don't really have to worry. I doubt a trade goes down at all. Every trade deadline in recent memory, rumors have circulated about the Lakers landing a big name player, but nothing has happened. The last trade we made in the regular season was for Glen Rice, back in 1999
Why are the warriors giving up jrich? they already have baron... plus do you think kidd would not want to go to a non contender? not to take anything away from the warriors but if i were kidd it would have to be between the lakers and cavs based on their offer and their championship chances
LOL its not Kidd's decision. The Nets will trade him to whatever team gives them the best offer, they gotta look out for the organization too man. That said, I want him to go to a contender, preferably LA.
how is the warriors offer any good? the lakers offer is really good because the nets are looking to rebuild, and with the expiring contracts they'll get from the lakers, they can begin to build up a team from scratch.
<div class="quote_poster">thedude9990 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">if the lakers offer andrew bynum and a pile of horse manure for jason kidd the nets better do it</div> The Lakers are trying to pull it off without giving a starter,or anyone much likely to be a starter....unless it's Kwame Brown who they want to dump. Despite the rumors/BS...Golden St is not inclined to take on a player that age and salary.....the W's ain't above .500,want players who are in their prime in the next 2-5 years. Warriors also have 2 PG stars already...so adding one more is not the logical move-unless Kidd's gonna play SF. I think there's teams not yet being talked about.
