CB Jamar Fletcher (5-10, 186) joins the Lions and is entering his sixth NFL season, he signed a one year deal. Fletcher was originally drafted by Miami in the first round of the 2001 NFL Draft.

In three seasons with the Dolphins, Fletcher played in 41 games with six starts. His best season was in 2002 when he finished with a career-high 39 tackles (36 solo) and two interceptions, one of which he returned 30 yards.

As a collegian for Wisconsin, Fletcher set school records with 21 career interceptions and 57 passes defensed. He also set a Big Ten conference record with 459 career interception return yards and five interception return touchdowns. Fletcher declared for the NFL Draft after his junior season in which he was the recipient of the Jim Thorpe Award, annually given to the nation?s top defensive back. He was also the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year following his final season with the Badgers.

Woohoo. You signed one of Teflon Dave's and Rick Spielman's flops. I'm happy for you. Feel better about not getting that sixth round pick?

:sigh: Fletcher was once a promising young CB from Wisconsin... I still think he has talent but nothing more than a nickel or dime back.

A flop for a flop ... let's see who pays more for a flop.

I believe Dave won a "Coach of the Year Award" in his NFL career. As for Nick he's done nothing as an NFL head coach. Zero. I can't understand why you guys worship him like a God when he's done nothing. What's up with that?

Jamar Fletcher has an inate ability to draw a holding penalty at the worst possible times....Im convinced that on 3rd and more than 10 teams would run a WR right at him because they knew he would throw a lasso on and ride the guy around....hes a frustrating guy to have around....

Saban has a winning record as a head coach. This is about a signing, so what has millen done as a GM? FAIL! Thats it. JUST FAIL. Not once, but at everything he has done as GM has been a total and complete FAILURE. If you looked up WORST GM EVER in the record books, you would find his biography. Unfortunately, no one in the future will ever believe that one man could be so DUMB

Who worships Saban like a god? Like I've said before, I like the job that he has done so far and I'm not going to rip on him just to rip on him.

Saban has done nothing? Last year's draft produced three starters. The Dolphins won five more games, in his first year, than the year before. His first season was a winning season, 9-7. By the way, that's four more games than the Lions won last year, three more than the Lions won the year before that, four more than the Lions won in 2003, six more than the Lions won in 2002, seven more than the Lions won in 2001. (Wow! I was just looking at the Lions all-time records and the Lions have only managed to win nine games twice in the past ten years. No wonder Lions fans are bitter.) I'm not sure why Dolphin fans would be anything other than pleased with Saban so far.

Fletcher not only washed out in Miami but in San Diego also.

The Chargers have arguably the worst secondary in the league and you are bragging?

I know the Lions are desperate.... for improvement but this is a new high in lows even for the Detroit football organization.

Zackman's probably just angry with Miami and their fans for sending over Scott Mitchell all those years back. [IMG]

U of Utah alum or not, Mitchell left Miami of his own free will & greed. Detroit, however, threw an unrealistic amount at what was a 1 hit wonder.
