If I were the Knicks I'd do that in a heart beat, gettin Carter to go alongside Curry and Marbury would be a nasty triple threat. PG: Marbury SG: Vince SF: Q-RICH PF: Lee C: Curry 6th man - Steve Francis This team could be an offensive power in the East and could do some serious damage in the playoffs.
The Knicks really had no chance in this deal since they weren't willing to part ways with David Lee and rightly so.

<div class="quote_poster">MrJ Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I lost a bet. </div> To who? I don't think trading Channing Frye would be the greatest move, I still see him being a good player that can get 15 & 10 down the road.
Brian of all people. I made the fine piece of ass you see before you. Anyway... This trade would've been stupid anyway I reckon, VC is like a better version of Jamal Crawford, he wouldnt have improved much.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">On Thursday, Isiah Thomas denied making a formal offer for the Nets' Vince Carter in recent days. However, as the Post's Fred Kerber reported yesterday, the Knicks indeed offered for Carter a package of Channing Frye, Jerome James and Malik Rose. The Knicks did not offer Jamal Crawford, but the Nets were rebuffed when they tried to get rookie Renaldo Balkman added. The Knicks also offered Frye and Francis for Jason Kidd. As for contacting the Nets about Carter, it was "just due diligence," Thomas said. "It's safe to say there's 29 other teams we made contact with," he said. "I've been pretty straight-up with you guys. I don't see anything on the horizon. We contacted 29 teams to see who was available. New Jersey was one of them. "We did our homework," Thomas added. "I didn't make an offer." </div> http://www.nypost.com/seven/02232007/sport...rman.htm?page=2 Apparently the Nets wanted Balkman. lol, We really tried to G the Nets though. Channing Frye, Malik Rose, and Jerome James for Vince Carter.
I could see Vince signing with the Knicks if they offer alot more money then what the Nets offer. If VC signs with the Knicks he will get to play with 2 good point guards, but Jason Kidd is still better then both combined, he will get to play with David Lee, who is better than Nenad Krsric, he will get to play with Jamal Crawford that could be better than Richard Jefferson, and play with a better bench. So I wouldn't be surprised if Carter signs with the Knicks. He will get more money, and possibly a better team, but he wont get as many touches and his scoring will drop. I'm not sure if he would sign with the Knicks or not, but don't be surprised to see him do so.
The Knicks won't be able to give a better offer than the Nets. He's probably going to Orlando. They have cap space, talent, a vacant SG position, and he's from Florida.

I think Vince is going through what Tracy McGready went through last season. His personal issues are really taking a toll on his play. Any team would be stupid to not be interested in Vince because he is one of the best scorers in the NBA.
