Well, if he's been playing with it, I guess it either isn't considered a major injury or he's really determined to play. Either way, I guess it shouldn't affect him too much.
Well they've been concealing this because they didn't want to harm trade possibilities. I assumed he played with it because he wanted teams to think he's only got minor back problems. This could be serious.
