1) How come nobody criticizes Turiaf when he plays like crap (got this from LG)? 2) Why is everyone so high on Farmar? 3) Why is Lamar "untouchable"?

Well, Turiaf does have some bad games, but his energy and intensity sort of makes up for it IMO. He's also one of the very few Lakers that actually try and plays with some sort of heart. Also, I still think some Laker fans are sensitive about his whole heart surgery issue. It's obvious Laker fans LOVE the guy 2. No clue, in fact, I have the same question. I remember someone stated on JBB that they wouldn't trade Farmar for Jason Kidd. That's just ridiculous. I like Farmar and all, and I think he can be a solid player in the league, but nothing special. Just a role player 3. I think the organization still has hope he will return back to his "beginning of the season form." Remember, the guy was playing so well in the beginning of the season, most Laker fans wouldn't even trade him away for KG. Obviously he has never looked the same after the injury, but I have been one of the very few Laker fans on JBB that has actually supported him. But each and every game, he makes it harder and harder
I think Lamar is untouchable because the organization is trying to save face and not admit they were raped in the Miami deal. Lamar is the only remaining piece from that deal, so I trading him would consent that Miami murdered us.
1) Not a clue on this one. I realize he gives us energy, but that alone isn't enough to save him from criticism if you ask me. 2) I will be the first to say I love Farmar. His shot has improved since he was drafted, he's an amazing athlete, but most of all, I love his instincts. He's picked up the tri faster than most any other rookie could. The kid is very, very smart and has the potential to be a very good point guard and maybe even a cornerstone for this franchise along with Bynum. While he makes his mistakes, he's a rookie, it's expected. The kid has a ton of potential and is only going to get better. 3) I think Lamar is untouchable simply because of how good he CAN be. The last thing the Lakers need is to trade him and than have him start playing out of his mind. Beyond that, he's very versatile. He gives matchup problems, and when he's playing with confidence, he's an excellent player. As far as the Shaq trade, I really don't think we got raped that badly. Shaq was and is clearly on the decline and was wanting way, way too much money. We'll see how good Shaq is and if he can still carry a team now that Wade is out.
We got raped based on the fact that we let him refusing to play in Indiana (who was willing to give up Jermaine O'neal), for the Clippers (Elton Brand), and Dallas (who was giving up Nash). Why settle for Odom?

1. Turiad has heart, pride, hussle and cares about the team. If everyone would show heart like he does we wouldn't be loosing as many games in the fourth quater. 2. Farmar has the really great basketball IQ, court vision, and its not affraid to take it in or shoot the ball. He might be struggling right now but it just shows he is a rookie. I would prefer Farmar as a started than Smush but then again I dont know why Phil is sooo wooped on Smush. 3. I don't think Lamar is untouchable and after this season the Lakers will definitely trade for him if we are given the opportunity to get an All-Star quality player. Odom will never improve.
1) No one is above criticism, but I don't recall Turiaf having a bad game. When I see him on the court, I see him contributing on both ends, so I'm not sure what constitutes a bad game for him. He doesn't take bad shots, he doesn't take off plays, and his enthusiasm is not something I can criticize. 2) I think a lot of people are high on Farmar, because he played at UCLA, and the fact he's exceeded the expectations of most fans. You also have to factor in the person in front of him, Smush, is a disaster at starting PG in most games. 3) Early on in the season Lamar had the "untouchable" label, but since his return from injury, I'm not sure the organization considers him untouchable. If the right deal came along for Odom, the Lakers should pull the trigger.
