8"2 15 year old kid from Sudan he wants to play in the NBA. hes not even done growing yet. do you think its possible for someone his height to develop some atheticism and actually play. http://www.childrensworld.org/page.html?pid=394
It's probably unhealthy to be so tall, especially since he's only 15. He could max out pretty close to 9 feet which is ridiculous because fully extended, his arms would be above the rim. It will be almost impossible for somone to goaltend his shot. He needs to add a lot of bulk though.
It mentions his uncle in the NBA, I'm guessing Manute Bol? The rest of the article was depressing as hell. Hopefully he can make it to the NBA and help out the children of his country.
Woah I thought Sun Sun Ming was tall. Even if he does make it to the NBA he will be a bench player coming in and blocking the odd shot, not hating I'm all for him getting to the L but it would be hard for him to keep up with the pace and add bulk to his lanky frame Maybe he can join the Knighthaws the team with all those tall players
With his height, there's no way he'll make it to the NBA. He can't possibly have enough stability or coordination to play in the big leagues. Plus, guys that tall always have problems in the bodies (ex. Sun Ming Ming's tumor, the tallest man ever who died early, etc.).
Considering the situation he is in, its not highly likely. But hopefully, if his situation improves and he works on his game and stuff, I dont see why he can't make it to NBA.
Not to go too off topic, but anyone remember that whole thing about the 7'11 guy that turned out to be a fake article in the end? I think the members here before late 2005 will remember, lol.

i hope he gets there and i wish him the best but its gonna be real tough for him even though hes got a few years to develop since hes only 15

That's Ring Ayuel, he's not actually 8'2" like it says he's only 7'5" and is in HS in New York. He's in the 08 class for high school prospects, I remember making another thread on him.....
he is huge, i doubt he is 2.5 meters tall though, judging by the picture i say hes a little shorter Yao, maybe the same hieght, still huge though

You can die if your too tall and you cant support the weight, but I think Gigantism is another diesease that doesnt kill you it just makes you taller.
Sorry to steal your thunder J_Ray, but I thought I'd post what you posted in their here: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Ring Ayeul 7-5 center OSNA, LI. 6/15/05 John P Miciotta: 'Obviously size is the best tool the young man from the Sudan has. At the high school level he has demonstrated an ability to block and change shots, as well as the hands to catch the ball and score on stick backs. The blessing of his size means he has lots of work to do improving his coordination and balance. If he keeps working hard he’ll develop into a fine prospect.' 11/9/04 Eric Jaklitsch: 'The other freshman is 7'5" (no that is not a misprint!) Ring Ayeul by the way of the Sudan. Ayeul is a little bit raw on the offensive end however he has a Kevin Garnett like frame, is a superior defender, and can run the floor like a gazelle.'</div>
