If he's been working on one album for 8 damn years, it better be the most amazing **** anyone has ever heard from Dre.

I have a feeling it's going to be a bust, actually.

Well, he did spend quite a bit of time on 2001 after The Chronic, so I expect a good album. I don't know if it will be a classic, but I don't think it will be a total flop. I'll probably cop it.

This is album is so hyped up, I hope it will be able to live up to the expectations. At least we have a date now, I'll be getting it.

I'll be getting it no matter what, "2001" is a classic, so is "The Chronic". I just hope it isnt too over hyped.

Also only 12 tracks? That's a bit of a let down if true, 2001 had like 18-19 or somthing.

I highly doubt he's been spending eight full years devoted to one album. It should take a month or two to turn out a quality rap album. I could somewhat understand if there were instruments involved, music to be written, etc., but a rap album? I think you guys are going to be let down coming to expect eight years of work from 12 rap tracks.

I'm hoping for a classic, as Dre is one of the rap artists that I still listen to, but I've got a feeling we're expecting too much.

Dre is a perfectionist remember, he'll be tweaking and twiddling until release day comes around.

If "Get Your Money Right" is an indication of what we can expect to hear on Detox, then i'll be very impressed.

I heard it got leaked or he wasn't satisfied with what he came up with a few times, and ended up starting over.

I like Dre. Best westsider after Pac, imo. "The Chronic" and "2001" are pretty legendary albums, he has been working on "Detox" for 8 years so I'm predicting that it's not going to be a dissapointment for Dre's fans.

He hasn't been working on it got 8 years. He started work on it then cancelled the whole project and then decided to start it up again. I think he started work on it in 2004 but he was busy with Game, Busta Rhymes and Eve so he couldn't work on it. This year is the first full year he's had dedicated to making the album. I think overall, he would have spent a year working on it if it comes out this year.

He never actually cancelled it, he just shelved it at the time to focus on getting Game, Busta etc. albums out there, like you said.

'2001' wasnt a great Dre album, it was a great listening experience that he master minded. On a lesser scale, "Soul Survivor" by Pete Rock is a very similar album in that context.

I'd rather have 12 tracks, shorter albums tend to be better, less filler material.

You bag on rap too much. Though while Dre might not be the hottest thing around, I'll download it to hear.
