Can any of you guys imagine being a parent? I think although this is still far for me (I'm only 18) and a lot of the people that post around here, it's still scary to think that 10 years from now I will probably be married and perhaps will have had a kid by then as well (if I'm financially stable of course). I don't know what kind of parent I'd be, obviously a loving one, but it's such a huge responsibilty and at this point, I can't see myself fathering a kid for obvious reasons. The question I want to ask is that, when your own kids are teens, would you let them live thier life the way you live yours now? What kind of restrictions would you place on them? It'd be especially cool to hear the answer to that question from those members on this board that drink/smoke/do drugs often.
Yeah I will let my kids do pretty much what they want, with restrictions of course (I'm not going to condone Drug Use for example), but I'm not going to keep them on a leash.
I plan to have my first kid in three or four years. Possibly earlier depending on the money situation. I want to be financially ready to have a kid, as should anybody else. As for what my kids would do, I'd just make sure they don't wait to go to college a few years like I did. That just wastes portions of your youth.
It's gotta be hard to have a daughter these days. The teenaged years are especially stressful. I wouldn't want a dude doing what me and my friends talk about.
