I was wondering if Heat fans have noticed how arrogant Dwyane has gotten? How do you guys feel about it, if you have noticed that?*

*I'm not instigating anything, I was reading another board where some Heat fans were kind of sick of his arrogance and him relying on the refs to bail him out.

I'm not annoyed, a player like him needs that type of arrogance. Kobe has it and so did Michael.

I never knew Wade had "arrogance" or an "ego".

All bias aside, I can honestly say I haven't noticed any ego issues with Dwyane this season or any of the other seasons hes been in the league. I been watching every game since he was a rookie and he has a silent confidence about him but thats in no way a bad thing, confidence isn't necessarily an ego problem. This season that hes a defending Champ he acts the exact same way he did when he entered the league. His confidence may be bigger now but rightfully so, his confidence is a good thing. Not once do I recall him starting anything with anyone or blatantly show off in a game in the four years of him being in the league unlike most people with that talent. Compared to the other superstars in the league, Wade is probably the most humble person on the planet. The fact of the matter is none of us really know, we can only make conclusions about what others that know him say about him, and apparently they all love him:

"Dwyane Wade is the perfect amalgam of class, professionalism?and obscurity.?-Stephen A. Smith

"He?s not just one of the guys basketball needs. He?s one of the guys all of pro sports needs. He acts the way you?re supposed to act.?-Stan Van Gundy

?For his age, it just amazes me how professional he is and how dedicated he is and how much he understands the game.?- Greg Popovich

?He?s a special talent. Not only is he gifted, he?s very mature and unselfish.?- Mike Fratello

"He's done it the right way, other guys had their spot handed to them. But he earned it, he is the true definition of a superstar. Great thing about Wade is hes soft spoken, one of the most humble people in the league."-Shaq

I've seen and read plenty behind the scenes Heat articles and such and every person that knows Wade have all said they love being around him, and that hes just one of those natural humble guys. I know people here in Miami that have met him and they all say hes friendly and easy to talk to. Plus hes done alot for the city of Chicago and Miami. If people that know him say hes naturally humble and say that hes a proffesional on and off the court, then none of us can claim that Wade is an all star with an ego problem.

I don't think it is arrogance, he just has such a high level of confidence.

When he made that comment about dirk it was unecessary, I have noticed him acting more arrogant but its not bad he wasnt arrogant to begin with..

Yea, I'm kind of confused by the question too. I've always considered him to be a pretty humble individual. If you're referring to the comments on Nowitzki, you need to realize that nothing just comes out of nowhere like that. A reporter obviously lead him into that type of answer.

This thread was kind of random, came out of nowhere?
What has Wade done lately that makes you think he is egotistic, Mamba?

Sure, Wade shows swagger at the end of games when he's knocking down shots, but he's not arrogant. He's actually a pretty humble, soft-spoken guy. He certainly has every reason to be arrogant, but I'm not sure what you're seeing that would lead you to believe he is. Can you give us examples? If you want to see some arrogance look at Lebron James.

Like others have said, Wades not arrogant. He is simply confident, and that is something you need to be a good player. All the greats had good confidence in their abilities and team, thats why their great.

Dwyane Wade actually shows no signs of arrogance. I felt the way he lashed at Dirk was wrong, but in hindsight, I guess he felt his team was being disrespected and stood up for it. Honestly, he is one of the more humble players in the league. His demeanor on and off the court reminds me alot of someone like Ray Allen or Allan Houston, except Wade often celebrates more after big buckets than those other two do. Other than that, he's not arrogant at all (atleast as far as we know).

ALL NBA players have an ego; you can't make it to the professional leagues and enjoy the benefits that suround the league without having a sense of pride about yourself. However, the great ones use thier ego to thier advantage (i.e - Larry Bird, Michael Jordan). Even if Dwyane does have an ego, he doesn't show it, and as long as he is winning with this current "ego" that he has, then he doesn't need to change a thing about himself.

I see a few of you have mentioned people like Kobe, MJ, bird, magic etc. who had an arrogance about them that fueled their ability to win, and i agree, but Wade isnt winning, yes they are the champions, but they are not winning this year and wade has begun to show a bit of cockiness and arrogance, but with no wins to back it up.

I don't really feel he does anything that other superstars aren't guilty of themselves. He has a quite confidence/swagger, but nothing I would consider arrogance.
