<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">No, there's nothing rare about the Warriors getting smoked on the road. The anomaly was Warriors center Andris Biedrins having his worst games of the season. Biedrins totaled four points on 2-for-8 shooting (25 percent) with three rebounds, a block and a turnover in 27 minutes. What's more, he got (somewhat) schooled by Milwaukee center Andrew Bogut, who went for 13 points on 6-for-10 and 14 rebounds in 31 minutes. It was one of only six bad shooting nights this season for Biedrins. The six missed field goals Tuesday was his third-highest total of the season. His only worse nights offensively were a 6-for-13 effort against Boston on Dec. 20 and a season-worst 3-for-11 performance at Toronto on Dec. 17. "They weren't even crazy shots," Biedrins said. "I don't know. I was just missing them." Biedrins' field goal percentage dropped to 60.69 percent, which is still tops in the league, but just barely ahead of New York forward David Lee (60.61).</div> Source
AB > Bogut. He's more athletic, mobile and better defensively. His offensive game is coming along. Right now, he's a slasher, but his footwork has gotten better and I see a mid-range shot being added.
I love the upside of Biedrins game. His activity on defense reminds me of AK47, but the Warriors have to do a better job of getting Biedrins the ball in his comfort zones. He's more effective when he positions himself on the left block. It gives him the option to use his speed and drive to the middle of the paint, or go baseline and finish with either hand. I noticed he panics and rushes when the Warriors feed him the ball in the middle. He's not comfortable with his back to the basket and when the defense sags on him, he takes a bad shot, or gets called for traveling. Biedrins has to become a better free throw shooter, which Nellie will correct in time, and also learn to use a quick dribble with either hand. He gets a lot of lift when he jumps, so all he needs to work on is creating an angle with a short dribble to get a step on his defender. It will give him a dunk or trip to the free throw line once he learns to create that space. Adding a mid-range jumper will also improve his effectiveness on offense. He'll probably establish one in his 2nd or 3rd year under Nellie.

The Bucks were clearly making an effort just to keep him off the glass and out of his comfort zones and it worked perfectly. Other players have to step up, Biedrins will learn with time and experience how to cope with being the focus of the opposing team but until then we need someone to step up and help out inside.
AB has a nice jump hook from the right block going middle. That hitch in the FT has got to go too. AB is the best C candidate since Chief Parish (better than JB Carroll, well Webber.)
