Yea, Ray-Ray would prolly be my second guess. Battier is TOO much like a politician sometimes. I love Shane, but he's so perfect it scares me sometimes[IMG]

John Amaechi is the smartest NBA player I've seen, easily. His interview on Bill Maher was very good.

(Yes, I know he's not current Todd)

If John Amaechi was president, he would have no respect given towards him in terms of authority due to the fact that he's gay. People would find it hard to follow his rules.

I was waiting for Amaechi's name to come up, good call Chuck. He's definitely one of the smartest men to ever play in the NBA and you can just tell how intelligent he is by hearing him speak in an interview. And Chuck is right, we've had rich white men running this country for far too long. It's time for a change and honestly I'd rather have a gay John Amaechi in charge rather than some of the other people you guys are mentioning (Michael Jordan or Shaquille O'Neal???)

It'll be weird to see a president without a first lady.[IMG]

So despite having an excellent education his sexual orientation makes him a worse option than someone like Shaq? If you think not having a first lady would be weird, it would also be weird to see a president who constantly needs attention, acts like a child, and has an ego the size of the country he is running which would be the situation if O'Neal were in charge.

I like the Amaechi and Foyle selections. Honestly, the majority of the superstars in the league would be weak choices. Very few of them complete their college education and some of them only have a High School degree. Another one is Etan Thomas. I'm not sure about his education, but he's always struck me as a socially aware person.

Amaechi being gay doesn't really matter to me but he'd definately come under scrutiny more than a black candidate because of his sexuality. I've seen his interviews and you can tell he has a very good heart and is also very accomplished academicly.

Good one, and Foyle is a good guy. One of my friends used to be ball-boy for the Rockets and he told me how Howard and Foyle were the 2 players that tried to teach him how to shoot and were nice to him. He also said Sura was a ***** because one time he ran him over and did a layup when he was getting rebounds and didn't even say sorry or anything.

Completing college education doesn't even mean much. I mean Shaq has a degree, but can you picture him giving a speech about foreign policy? he would be entertaining though.[IMG]
Steve Nash would be my vote, he is a leader, he's not concerned about his own ego too much and he seems to be thoughtful. Even when he's asked courtside questions, he always stops to consider the answer.
Avery Johnson would be a good one too, but he obviously is not current player.

Shaquille O'Neal? Michael Jordan? MJ would probably try and kill all of the USA's neighbouring countries in an effort to dominate them and showcase that the USA is the best [IMG]

Shaq...I don't know, I wouldn't be surprised if he broke out some break dancing moves i nthe middle of his State of the Union speech on live TV.

I think being able to be vocally strong aids greatly in being president, but it shouldn't be the deciding factor.
Some of the people that I've heard are intelligent around the league were Etan Thomas (definetly), Adonal Foyle, and yeah, Shane Battier.

I would probably vote for Steve Nash though, although he'd be the PRIME MINISTER, and not the president. He wouldn't represent the USA obviously [IMG]

Steve Nash is Canadian. Come to think of it, it would be funny seeing a Canadian running America.

    John Amaechi is English.

And Martin Lawrence was born in Frankfurt.
