Star treatment has existed, the Jazz guard said with a shrug, since the first NBA official put a whistle to his mouth.
"The league doesn't like to hear it, but it's always been that way," Fisher said. "There's nothing you can do about it. It's part of the game, so go out there and play."
The league tries to portray itself as fair and impartial, but everyone knows that economics subtly play a part in how games are officiated, he said.
"The stars are the guys they use to market the game, and people pay a lot of money to come and see them play, so obviously they're not going to spend the majority of the time on the bench with fouls," Fisher added. "That's not what people pay to see." </div>

It's pretty obvious that he got star treatment....... Sloan put it best:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It doesn't make people like Jazz coach Jerry Sloan any happier, though. Sloan groused after the loss to the Lakers that his team forced the ball inside more than L.A., as evidenced by 10 more points in the paint. Yet the Lakers were awarded 10 more free throws than Utah, with Bryant outscoring the entire Jazz team from the line, 21-18.</div>

The previous game Kobe kills the entire utah team whit 52 points and a 30 points in a quarter in a blow out dont cry be realistic is rare that kobe have that treatment from the oficials sometimes is the other side of the coin whit the oficials against kobe missing calls.

you know, Wade, Lebron, and the rest have had their fare share of STAR TREATMENTs as well. I don't think any player should have it, but thats the nature of the game.

I've also seen Kobe get hacked like hell an entire game with hardly any calls. This game just happend to go his way. Other games have not.

Yeah just like the cleveland game were he should have gotten around 18 FT's due to fouls if they were actually called

Did any of you guys actually the game though? He got call after call making it almost impossible to even get within 2 feet from him. AK finally slowed him down by just putting his long arms in the air avoiding all contact.....

I know other stars get star treatment (like wade.. wow).I know it isn't this bad every game. I know Kobe might not get calls sometimes just like any other player. But that doesn't mean what happened when he played the Jazz was justified in any way. It was ridiculous.

Against the Jazz, Kobe did get star treatment. Personally, I just want the game to be played by the rules. The star treatment crap is absolute bull, and it ruins the game. I was really looking forward to this game because it could very well be a preview of the first round of the playoffs. The Lakers and the Jazz may face each other, and I was really looking forward to seeing where each team stands. With all the foul calls Kobe was getting, it was nearly impossible to asess either teams

Kobe definitely gets star treatment but that is expected. I remember earlier in the season, he got so many calls against the Magic and it eventually led to the Lakers winning the game. Towards the end of the game, Jameer Nelson swiped the ball from Kobe and the refs blew the whistle. It was so obvious that there was no contact and even the play by play guys brought up the terrible officiating. Pretty pathetic but just something you have to deal with as an NBA fan.
