<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> AUSTIN * It is one of those things that you want to see in person at least one time, or you know you have missed something special. Tiger at Augusta. Favre at Lambeau. Durant in Austin. I'm not kidding. There never has been a Texas basketball player quite like Kevin Durant. For all we can tell, there never has been a freshman basketball player anywhere quite like Kevin Durant. As the Longhorns put themselves in position to play for the Big 12 regular season title Saturday in Kansas with a 98-96 double overtime win over Texas A&M Wednesday, Durant was ordinary. </div> Source
Durant showed some Dirk qualities last night for the first time. Not only did he take and make a huge-late game shot (he's done that a couple times now, and looks good doing it), but he got in a teammate's face right in front of everyone and slapped him on the head. Leadership? Probably, but just like when Dirk does it, I wonder if it's the correct approach to leadership. I feel for Connor Atchley, though - he gets knocked on the head by Durant, then at the end of the game, Damion James rips the ball out of his hands and chucks it into the crowd. Atchley's a sophmore, James and Durant are freshmen. We all talked about the potential for trouble if the frosh walked into Austin acting like they were running the place...I wonder how good that team's chemistry really is.
