I think he's raising a legitimate issue. If players came out of Vegas this year concerned about their security than how will New Orleans be able to handle the possible influx of people for the ASG? From the sounds of things they should be fine, if they can handle Mardi Gras they can definitely handle the ASG. Asking the question whether New Orleans can handle the festivities isn't a stupid question, at all. But if he's saying that they can't possibly go to New Orleans when he isn't aware of the facts, I think he's misguided.

Having the All Star game in Toronto would mean having it in the winter, which is a bad idea even though I'm pulling for Toronto.

He has no reason to be worried. Like stated, New Orleans can handle Mardi Gras....they can easily handle a simple event such as the NBA ASW.

McGrady isn't the only one raising this issue. Billy Hunter did as well. I think McGrady was just echoing what he said.

All TMac said was if he doesn't feel safe, he'll consider skipping the event. He said this right after Vegas, where the security problems are well known. Let's not make too big a deal about it.
