Johnson guided the league-leading Dallas Mavericks (48-9) to a 10-0 record during the month. Dallas is in the midst of a 13-game winning streak. After starting the season 0-4, the Mavs have run roughshod over the rest of the league. They are the first team in NBA history to post three winning streaks of 12 or more games in the same season. Under the guidance of Saunders, the Pistons went 10-1 last month. Detroit (36-19) has moved atop the Eastern Conference standings, 5 1/2 games in front of Washington.
