But once the euphoria dissipates and reality comes knocking, the Sixers will still be a team that considers mediocrity a compliment and is without enough blocks to build upon, although it is striving and progressing for a coach, Maurice Cheeks, who will probably be out the door the second the season expires.

It's the unspoken expectation around the Wachovia Center these days, but an expectation reverberating around the Sixers nevertheless: The second this season is over, the second team chairman Ed Snider and his cronies finish scribbling notes from whatever public relations firm they retain, all of Cheeks' effort and dedication will be thrown to the wayside in favor of that familiar old coach who loves to preach about playing the right way.</div>

Does that mean Brown is going to have to step in as head coach next season?

Who knows, the hot rumor is that the 76ers are going to make a huge offer to Villanova head coach, Jay Wright. Although, Wright has denied having any interest in leaving Villanova, lets be real we all know money talks. I personally don't want to see Larry Brown back on the sideline. He is a good coach when you have a veteran team, but I don't think he can take this team we have now and get everyone on the same page. Odds are he will want us to waive Dalembert, Carney, Green, and Korver by the second month of the season.

How many coaching changes has this team gone through in the past couple of season? Pick a coach, and stick with them for crying out loud. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Larry Brown step in as coach. I've never thought that he was actually going to be happy being just an "advisor." I hope he doesn't coach the team though. He doesn't have a great track record at all with young, inexperienced teams. He's probably going to ask for us to trade away our young talent for proven veteran so he can win now
