30 points, 12-19 FG, 6-6 FT, 6 REB, 2 Blk, 1 TO in 26 minutes.....why didn't the Bulls keep LaMarcus Aldridge if they needed post scoring so bad? He was a proven scorer coming out of college but they went with the project. Is there something I'm missing? They got the defensive presence and boards guy with Ben Wallace but added another with Tyrus Thomas. Teams without legitimate post scoring just don't win championships.....
Aldridge scores most of his baskets on jumpshots. He's more of a face-up scorer at this point, and has a lot more room for error playing in Portland than he would have in Chicago. You also have to factor in the Bobcats where without Emeka Okafor last night. If he played Aldridge wouldn't have scored 30. Aldridge also benefits from having ZBo drawing double teams.
i was so happy we got him, and was shocked when we traded him. Reminds me of someone we let go awhile ago who went to become a all-star
When we decided to take Tyrus over Aldridge, we did so knowing Tyrus was going to take some time to develop, but betting on his future potential to pan out. I am not surprised Aldridge has had some big offensive games this season. He was projected to be an NBA ready talent when he came into the draft last season. However, I am satisfied with what Tyrus is giving us right now regardless...the future just keeps looking brighter.
i wouldnt say that the Bulls messed up for the fact that just getting a post-player n draft because he is avaible is a good move. U dont bring up the fact that he scored to the Charlotte Bobcat who by the way have a worse record than Porland and yet the next game was 1-12 and only had 3 points. Another thing is that Aldridge would have not played much for the fact that Skiles wants players to earn minutes. Im sure if Thomas was getting the same minutes as Aldrigdes his stats would look a lot better than Aldridge. Also the need 4 a post-player imo is not 2 desprete since we have Luol Deng who could develop into a post-player. He learned how to get a consistant jump shot over an off-season he could easily develop a post game. Also since we have the option to swipe the Knicks pick and they get somewhere a round a 10th overall pick we can always trade it 4 a post-player like Nenad Krstic. Tyrus Thomas brings energy, is a game changer, and great shot blocker, and im sure Thomas will only get better. Since u brought up Aldridges one great game let me bring up Thomas's many good games. http://youtube.com/watch?v=9N5MbTdfJTw http://youtube.com/watch?v=NEOd5Ph56Gg http://youtube.com/watch?v=Aqa3-tiyecg http://youtube.com/watch?v=Th_i5P_3BlY
