Karl wishes Anthony would take a look to Houston and notice that emphasizing victory above all else is what has finally made Tracy McGrady a bona fide superstar at age 27, in his 10th season after entering the NBA, ballyhooed as the next big thing. "Tracy McGrady has grown up. Tracy McGrady gets it," Karl said. "And, right now, what you're saying is basically, 'When is Melo going to get it?' Is it going to be next month?' As a coach, there's no one more frustrated, there's no one more angry than me, because I feel the pain." Anthony's lack of consistent commitment to defense, the benign neglect of teammates who stand around for a pass that never arrives, the ducking out the side door at practice while Iverson is stuck with the media nags, it all stinks. When will Anthony stop dreaming about being one of the top 10 players on the planet, get down to it and work as hard at greatness as Dr. J or Magic or Air Jordan once did? i think you can at least respect melo for trying to do what he thinks is best to lead his team: scoring. which he is clearly capable of considering he leads the league in that category. but if your coach is telling you to pass more, shoot less, and be more concerned about the team than yourself individually, then god damn it, just do it. here is a perfect example of the old, well known saying "theres no I in TEAM".

Melo is still learning, or so I'd like to believe. He has been a scorer for a long time. But he will change if he wants that championship. I am not sure Karl is the coach to do that with Melo and Denver though.

The Iverson and Melo duo was overrated, im sad for Denver that they have'nt found a way to win games, they are struggling bad. What do you think, what's the main reason?? We'll see if that helps if Karl puts Melo on the bench. It gives other up-coming players a chance to shine.

But I understand where Karl is coming from, Melo needs more of a killer instinct when he is on the court. Not to mention they have missed a lot of time between Melo's suspension, and Allen Iverson getting hurt. The main reason why Denver is struggling is because they cannot stop anybody. Karl isn't saying he is going to bench Melo, he is saying he is going to start taking him out more for the choices he is making on the court. Melo is still a top scorer in the league people, but he has the tools to be more than that. That's all Karl is trying to say.
Why does he have to pass? Surely he can score 30 and someone else passes to other guys. I think it depends on the situation. If he is being double- or triple-teamed, then obviously pass, because there is an open player or two. If not, by all means score. Of course, it would be good if he could try harder on defence. I've been pleased to see that he gets at least 5 or 6 rebounds almost every night now.
