To paraphrase Keith Olbermann; "Detroit good riddance, Miami Hello!" JH, welcome to Miami It appears its for a 6th in '07 and possible a 5th as I speculatede earlier
I think Harrington will do a lot better in miami. Miami has a little better line, and a better running game. Harrington also have three great recivers, unlike the two mediocre, and the one good but mad WR. Harrington just needed a fresh start, and might do better playing without such scruntiy like in detriot
Stat eulogy for Joey Wondering if Joey was the worst of all time? After watching the "Princess" make 3 yard dump passes on 3rd and 8 over and over for four years I new she had to be the all-time worst in something so I looked up some stats. Here are my findings.... All-Time Worst Yards Per Attempt Average Of QB's with at least 1500 career attempts, Joey's 5.7 is in fact the NFL's all-time worst. If you lower the threshold to 1000 total career attempts, Joey rises to 3rd from the bottom out of 183 or so total qualified QB's in NFL history. Bobby Douglas is then alltime worst. But he was a "running" QB. Look it up http://www.pro-football-reference.com/qbindex.htm This is a very telling stat and it explains why some of her numbers appear to be acceptable. I'd be willing to bet that Doey's 3rd down passing completion ratio is near the all-time best, while his ratio for converting 3rd downs to 1st downs is likely the worst. He's maddening to watch. Matt Millen actually getting something for return for the "Princess" has now made him a "Lock" for "Executive of the Year."
Here's a list of every QB in the history of the NFL who's averaged 5.7 yards per pass attempt and how many throws they were allowed to attempt in their career. The "Princess' is in some pretty good company. LOL Boller, Kyle - 545 Campbell, Rich - 68 Case, Stoney - 318 Freitas, Jesse - 219 Graziani, Tony - 174 Harrington, Joey - 1802 Hasselbeck, Tim - 177 Hodson, Tom - 320 Kerrigan, Mike - 15 Kofler, Matt - 202 Krenzel, Craig - 127 Matthews, Shane - 839 Milan, Don - 32 Sweeney, Kevin - 106 Waters, Bob - 124 Whelihan, Craig - 557 Boller, Campbell and Harrington were all 1st round picks. As you can see the "Princess" was given <u>way</u> more opportunity than the rest of these bums. It's hard to believe anyone in their right mind would waste any more time on this guy. In case anyone was wondering, Ryan Leaf averaged 5.6 yards per attempt in 655 throws before the NFL gave up on him. Dolphin fans may remember another guy that was a tad better than the "Princess" and averaged 5.8 yards per attempt in his career ... A.J. Feeley. LMAO!!!!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Zackman)</div><div class='quotemain'>Matt Millen actually getting something for return for the "Princess" has now made him a "Lock" for "Executive of the Year."</div> Yeah Millen deserves one of those CEO-like golden parachute compensation packages. D'oh! I meant shoved out of an airplane w/ a lead parachute. Its the mustache, its gotta be the mustache. He & wanny must have ingrown facial hair that affects what little cognitive ability they posses.

LMAO!!!!</div> Well, 4 things come to mind here. 1) He does have a very low ypa stat and part of that is on him. 2) He played in west coast which i s designed around dumping the ball off and letting players make plays. Of course being in detroit, he had no "playmakers" around him. 3) His YPA has been steadily increasing each year. So making a comparison on "career" statistics to people over 1500 is dumb, becuase most QBs in modern era that got over 1500 were good and got many more than 4 years with a very bad team to raise the average. 4) Mcnabb is perfect example His first 3 years he averaged just 5.9 per attempt, 2 of those on actual playoff teams and with a back who could make a play when he dumped it. Now he is up to 6.6 and a elite type QB. I am sure Zack would love to find more skewed statistics to pull. I say bring it on

If I get "motivated" enough, I may run some type of statistcal test to compare the numbers.

We should change you from "The Historian" to the "Liberal Media" You love to take quotes out of context and skew things to your agenda. You look at the total of other QBs careers and compare it to the beginning so far of harringtons. If you want me to buy in to how bad his YPA compare it to the first 4 of every other QB with 1500 atts in thier career. Then we can talk. Other than that, you are just trying to do whatever it takes to make yourself feel better about losing 10 games every year.
An interesting interview with Harrington: http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article.../605140623/1049 Part 2 is coming Monday...

I challege you to come up with more than one NFL QB that become a solid starter who averaged less than 6 yards per pass attempt in their first 1500 attempts. If you're so fucking smart GETER DONE JOEY LOVER!
