<div class="quote_poster">Brian Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Any coach wouldn't have this Laker squad filled with a bunch of nobodies plus Kobe Bryant 5 games above .500, especially with all the injuries. Your critsizm of Phil Jackson is just ridiculous. How many coaches out there would have this team even above .500?</div> Phil is a great coach no doubt. But he gives games like it's nothing. I know he's not the one inbounding or shooting the ball. He should know his personnell out there.
I would trade Bynum and Odom away to get Kobe any kind of help he needs to win a championship ONE more time at least.
<div class="quote_poster">shapecity Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">PJax doesn't believe in coaching during games. He coaches in practice, and game time is a chance for the players to execute what they learned in practice. He doesn't believe in yelling and screaming at his players during a game. It's unorthodox, but it pays off in the long run. Unfortunately, the Lakers just don't have the veteran leadership PJax is accustomed to. This is a young team, they make stupid mistakes over and over again. He's part of this Positive Coaching Alliance movement. Here's a link to the vision of the organization. http://www.positivecoach.org/subcontent.aspx?SecID=108</div> I see...
IMO I think I have been kididng my self for giving so much hope to this team. Yet, these players other than Kobe, Turiaf, Luke, Evans are a bunch of scrubs that will NEVER bring the Lakers into an elite level. Yes! Injuries have been a factor but knowing that manament needs to stop adding injury prone players and stop depending on scrubs.
I love Drew, and I'll follow his career wherever it goes as I do think he'll be a 20/10 guy but I agree. I want to win in Kobe's prime, we need to trade for somebody in the offseason (package Drew and Lamar, get Gasol or Garnett) to win now. If I here this offseason that Lamar is considered untouchable, I won't watch this team when he's playing.
You know what amazes me? Turiaf passes all criticism and heat that every other player gets just because he hustles. It's BS. His heart is fine now, we can end his sob story. It's amazing he's playing basketball, but as far as we know, he's healthy. He needs to be criticized. He jumps around like an idiot out there, cheer leading. We have women who do that, we don't need him wasting his energy looking like an ass clown.

Turiaf takes shots within the offense and works the offensive glass for his attempts. He's shooting 54% from the field this year, you don't shoot a high clip taking bad shots. I don't expect Turiaf to play great D, but he's a lot more active at rotating, moving bodies, and fighting for position on defense then the other players on the team. If the guards didn't play matador defense causing Turiaf to get cheap fouls you'd see a lot more production when he's in the game. All season long the Lakers front line has been plagued by 2 quick fouls, because Smush Parker and Sasha let their man walk into the paint.
I think this is one game, and although it seems tonight that every Laker player is terrible (outside of Kobe), this roster has been capable of winning pretty good when they come together. Right now it seems like the question of the night is who is the dumbest Laker player? A week from now, if the Lakers win a few games, people might think differently about a lot of players. Kwame brings good defense, Bynum was compared to Dwight earlier in the year, Mo Evans is a steal, etc. <div class="quote_poster">Mamba Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I love Drew, and I'll follow his career wherever it goes as I do think he'll be a 20/10 guy but I agree. What more does Kobe need to do to show he wants to win... dammit man. This game was sickening. We should have won this easily in regulation. BOTTOMLINE.

Not sure why Mamba's not a big fan of Ronny.
Just frustrations, that's all. I personally feel he does nothing for the team, but he doesn't hurt them either. He reminds me of Mark Madsen. My only beef is that when he plays bad d, he doesn't get knocked like everybody else.

If our guards would do what their title says and GUARD, then we wouldn't have such a problem with our bigs getting in foul trouble. Seriously, how hard is it to stay in front of your man, I don't understand.
Maybe the Lakers should hold open tryouts for a 10 day contract? There's got to be some undiscovered cat in L.A. who's got a hell of a lot more talent than Smush.
